Admittedly, a manhole in a baseball field is a bit odd. Maybe people put it there after the war? If you want to deal with it yourself, it's easy to remove in 5 seconds with Fo4Edit.
Was seeing a lot of places in concord where steam was coming up from the blank streets. no manhole in sight. I tell myself it's the underground steam mains leaking... Other than that, it's groovy. have not tested the updated version yet though...
Maybe the manhole doesn't appear because the BA2 file is not loaded. The Ba2 file of this mod is compressed for nextgen. Oldgen users like you and me need to downgrade the Ba2 file using BA2 Archive Version Patcher.
Anyway, thanks to the author for the nice work on this mod.
Hi, nice for immersion, but can't choose between clean and irradiated manhole, would it be possible to have a version with both (depending on where they are, for example, presence of super-mutants / ghouls / highly polluted / irradiated areas, you get the irradiated version, while more “livable” / settlement areas get the clean version, this is just an idea ;) )
Hi! Thanks for your interest and idea. The irradiated version actually does follow a similar approach. Bunker Hill, Diamond City, Goodneighbor, Cambridge PD etc has clean steams, but obviously it needs feedback and refining. With that being said I've already had three different ideas from different people and can't satisfy everyone as you would understand. For the moment I'll keep it as is, but I might make more changes to it later. :)
yes I understand completely, and after your explanation (thank you for it) I'm going to take the irradiated version ;) while waiting for a possible future improvement, thank you very much.
A small remark, I saw that there was a manhole in “Starlight Drive In” the small concern is that in the irradiated version, the latter is (irradiated), in settlement zone i find that rather annoying, I hope that it is an error and will be corrected :)
Yea. That is a leftover from the earliest stages of the mod. Thanks a lot for pointing it out, that's exactly the kind of feedback I need. Added in my to-do list.
irradiated manhole ver. Diamond city first at entrance is a irradiate (green effect) manhole without rad effect ( it may be intentional, but just in case ... )
Hey there, awesome mod, I wanted to ask if this is meant for the NextGen update only?
I am currently running the version of FO4 before the NextGen update and was having an issue with the manholes not appearing properly in my game (only the steam venting would be shown, not the covers themselves). I loaded it up in xEdit to check for a conflict on my end, and it gave me this error:
[MCOC - Main.ba2] Loading Resources. [00:00] Background Loader: [MCOC - Main.ba2] Could not be loaded. <Error: [Exception] Unknown archive version 0x00000008> [00:00] Background Loader: [MCOC - Textures.ba2] Loading Resources. [00:00] Background Loader: [MCOC - Textures.ba2] Could not be loaded. <Error: [Exception] Unknown archive version 0x00000008>
I opened and repacked the archives, doing this resolved the errors and now the covers a showing up properly in-game.
Hi! Thank you. That's probably because I've made the mod using the latest version of the Creation Kit, and the OG version of the game fails to load the new version of ba2 archives properly.
I never tried it but the Backported Archive2 Support System (BASS) mod might solve that issue as well.
Anyway, I'm glad that you were able to resolve the issue. :)
Instant download. These kinds of little details are my favorite kind of mod. Tons of things like this for Skyrim but a dearth for Fallout 4, so happy to see it
I'm a sucker for immersion, which is why I'm a big fan of your mods. I actually searched for this kind of a mod on Nexus for Fallout 4 and I was surprised when nothing came up. So, I decided to make it myself.

Reaction 2: Are any of these chocolate covered? (No, go google it yourselves).
I've experienced that Irradiated version has some manholes that are not irradiated. Was that intentional?
