I don't often leave comments on mods, but this one deserves some recognition. Seriously, the premiere weapon sound mod. Excited to see any other sound work you do for this game. You've got some talent.

I normally don't comment but I did want to make a note here that not only is this mod a great addition to any modlist, but the developer is very helpful and willing to go above and beyond.

When I needed help with an audio issue with minimal understanding of how to resolve it in FO4Edit, Reese stepped up to the plate and I plan to share his work with others that were searching for the same answers I was over the years. Mind you the audio issue was related to configuring gun SFX to reflect the mod's weapon sounds and not default FO4 pipe weapons.

If anyone stumbles upon this at some point, feel free to message me but I'm sure Reese would be willing to share his insights as well.

Thank you again Reese and best of luck with your future projects. Happy Modding all.

Most of the weapon sounds are fantastic. That said, I feel like some of the energy weapons - like the Laser Rifle or Laser Musket - have a bit too much of a "ballistic" feel. They don’t quite capture that distinctive, high-tech energy vibe.

This isn’t meant to take away from your work - what you’ve done is genuinely impressive. I just wish there were a few more sound options for energy weapons that leaned more into that classic laser feel - more zap, less bang, if that makes sense.

I do really like the Gatling Laser sound, for example. It feels powerful and still distinctly like a laser.
Obviously, that kind of weight wouldn’t quite fit something like a Laser Rifle or Musket, but it shows that you're clearly capable of nailing great energy weapon sounds.

Still, thank you for the great work.

// It looks like this becomes less of an issue with upgrades to the weapons. With no mods or only "low-grade" ones, they sound like described above, but further down the line they improve depending on the mods you install.
I still think the Laser Rifle could use some improvements, like a more drawn out energy sound, even with the highest mods, but yeah - I correct myself.

Unfortunately this doesnt seem to work in VR. the reload sounds work, but the firing sounds are not present at all leading to completely silent weapons. :(

Thank you for your mod. Can't play without this. Could anyone guide me on how to use fo4edit to apply the 10mm fire sound from this mod to N99 10mm Pistol - F4NV? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40072?tab=posts&BH=8

edit: nvm saw the video tutorial a few posts down. Thank you again for the best gun sound mod!

First off, I love this mod to death. However, my game crashes when attempting to use the Gatling Laser’s charging barrel and the plasma gun’s flamer attachment on Xbox. I’ve done a lot of testing to weed out any conflicts with other mods and I’m 99.9% certain the issue is with this mod. Any chance there might be a possible fix in the future?

Yeah that seems to be a common issue with guns that use looped sounds. I honestly don't know why it's a problem on some systems and not others. Easiest solution is to just not use those guns. Otherwise the only fix I know of is to remove the sounds from the mod. As far as a fix from me in the future is unlikely. I've moved on to a bigger project that's taking a lot of time. If there's a substantial number of fixes I'll make one. However, you can make your own fix if you feel inclined to learn a little bit of Creation Kit and FO4edit.

Thisvideo is a good guide on how to create patches. The keywords to add are mostly vanilla. If you want a combat rifle sound then choose the s_40_CombatRifle or something like that.
