Would it be possible to allow shooting out fusion cores outside of VATS? It's baffling why they made that VATS exclusive when literally every other enemy has a different combat behavior if you destroy a weakspot, yet this is the exception.
Oh, I thought you meant normal fusion cores, as these are currently not supported. As for shooting fusion cores outside of VATS, currently I don't know how to implement that, I have to dig deeper.
It is already possible, just extremely difficult. I've managed to do it on a few raiders in separate play-throughs using the hunting rifle in vanilla, it took me ages though Lol Shooting a core on the ground and having it explode like a mini-nuke would be awesome though!
I actually added support for normal fusion cores a while ago, but there was a problem. Turns out that the game uses the normal fusion cores, seen in power armors and in the environment, also for the gatling laser, meaning that changing its projectile to an explosive one caused the gatling laser to fire tons of exploding fusion cores on the ground, effectively turning it into a grenade launcher.
This mod had the unintended effect of turning my gatling laser into a fusion core grenade spreader. I dunno if this is a feature or a bug but I wasn't expecting it lmao

Just to clarify, I mean shooting fusion cores inside of PA so you force the NPC out of the armor.
As for shooting fusion cores outside of VATS, currently I don't know how to implement that, I have to dig deeper.
