After spending a few hundred extra hours in Fallout 4 with my Little Boom mod being part of my own loadout all the time it was time to improve the whole thing. Some designs simply didn't cut it or had some other quirks which either didn't make them work as intended or felt kinda "odd". That said, here's what Little Boom REDUX (still) brings to the demolition ground:
Tin Grenade
If it works, don't fix it! A tincan filled with makeshift explosives and a fuze to light before throwing, you still unlock it by either looting it off a dead body, buying it from a merchant OR (which is new in this mod) by picking four of them up at the small shack close to Bedford Station, where the radroaches and a bloatfly are having a party.
Fusion Grenade
As with the tin grenade, this New Vegas classic also made its way into the REDUX without any changes. Dealing a mix of both energy and radiation damage, it still requires the Science! perk instead of Demolitions Expert, and the schematics are still in the Gunner shack on the overpass close to the catlady merchant at Walden Pont.
Bucket Mine
Now only requiring steel instead of an empty paint bucket, you still need to unlock it by finding the sensor modules required to build it in Wattz Consumer Electronics, close to the starting point for the Automatron DLC (the caravan ambush where you meet A-DA for the first time). Fairly easy to craft, it does not require any perks, and does less damage than a fragmentation mine but has a larger blast radius.
Incendiary Grenade
A must-have for pyros with standards! It replaces the old incendiary grenade and the Quantum Bomb by simply combining them. Being the big brother of the good old-fashioned Molotov, it deals 200 damage over the course of 5 seconds and causes (burning) targets to flee for 10 seconds. As with the old incendiary grenade, it can only be bought from vendors or looted so keep your caps ready. Flame on!
Quantum Fastball
Diamond City's new brand of grenades has a 40 percent chance to cripple a target's legs and sends them flying all over the place. For that extra spicy homerun. ^^
It can be crafted after acquiring the recipe from the chemistry workbench inside Diamond City, on the right side of the main gate right after the dialogue scene for Piper and the mayor.
Mesmetron Grenade
A new addition to the game, replacing the old mod's Anti-Riot Grenade. This little guy is the AoE version of both the mindcloud and Pax syringe, causing targets to simply forget about you and not noticing you for a short time, making it a perfect weapon for AoE crowd Control. Oh, and since it uses a modified gamma blast to mess with a target's brain, the effect completely ignores line-of-sight altogether, which means that you can temporarily blind enemies who took cover or were standing behind a wall!
The holotape with the schematics are found in the Hallucigen HQ among with a diary from the grenade's somewhat "unique" inventor. You can also find eight of them in a safe behind the Natick PD building or occasionally buy them from your trustworthy weapons vendor.
Satchel Charge
The spiritual successor of the old mod's remote-detonated demolition charges. Its schematics and one of the two detonators are still found in a new little basement cell located in West Everett Estates. I also edited the entries on the terminal to provide a more consistent and plausible lore for the charges and the detonator. It should also be a bit more obvious that the whole plot is a little nod to a certain movie. ;)
UPDATE: Now comes as a loose file version for the non-NG users.
If you wanna check out the old version, here it is.
As with the original mod, Little Boom REDUX plays very well in conjunction with my other weapon mods such as The Makeshift SMG , Pipe Gun Power Pack or Bull-It so check those out as well if you need some matching shooting irons. ^^
