I like how in previous games of this series there is no power armor fuel, but now there is... WTF Bethesda?!?!

I just wish Power Armor was actually armor and not a glorified vehicle with legs for wheels.

i just wanted to point out that fusion (combining 2 elements for power) is quite different from fission (splitting a element into two) or traditional nuclear power. i do not know all the science stuff, but i assume a fusion core is using cold fusion and from my understanding would produce much larger quantities of energy for a longer time. fusion from my understanding also produces no harmful radiation and has no half life. they should be power a suit for then 30 min. all i want is like an hour or something. so that the cores are still important but wearing power armor often is more feasible

"Working for a century" I am pretty sure it means that the parts won't wear out or succumb to failure after 100 years. So it makes sense that 210+ (don't know when the individual suits were manufactured) and they would be working less efficiently, plus the game has established that these fusion cores are all pre war and thus 210+ years old as well and likely not capable of the same usage lifetime.

It's in fact incredible that any power armor or fusion cores even work at all after so long without maintenance or the ability to make new parts.

The funny thins about fusion core fuel is that the radioactive decay of the material is not years, or hundreds of years: but millions of years, and if it is using none radioactive material like hydrogen then you are talking billions of years you know like since the big bang when all hydrogen that ever was or will be was made. So the only thing that should ever go bad on a fusion core is the container its shelf. so if that went it would leak radioactivity or you voice would get squeaky from huffing hydrogen. lol

I saw some data from somewhere I couldn't remember says different Power Armor uses different material to work, but FO4 does not think so. So I decided to make the Power Armor use less power to keep functional and match with the Wikia. Or was it too imbalanced?

The game has robots that have lasted in full function for 200+ years how come the power armor cores only last about a day. I think that constantly having to find a power core actually is not lore friendly it is just a device by Bethesda to a to motivate the players not to RULE THE WORLDby running around in power armor all the time. In real combat the army would never use power armor with that short of a power supply in fear that it would run out of power and be easily captured by the enemy. we have power suits of a kind now the main hindrance is not the technology of the suit but the limits of the power source. plus could you imagine if IRON MAN had to change his power core out every day.

I would think that power sources in use may actually hold up better over time. Real batteries need to be discharged and recharged (if it's recharible regularly to maintain optimal performance. I also assume that if a MR. Handy can last 210+ years then they must have rubbers and plastics that don't decay as fast as those used in the 50s

I think considering all the other factors that break this game scientifically. I'm sure it's better to just suspend the disbelief. If you really wanted to you could make the entire game invalid by pointing out that as you enter the vault the first time the nuke that is detonated would be too close to not kill everyone in the entire town!

Or how about the fact that 200 year old skeletons still have intact fabric on them, most likely made from organic fibers as most tech/info that is not specified by the game explicitly seem to default to what would be used/done in the 50s

Bullets with usable gunpowder after 200 years? What about the fact some houses still have a ton of wood in them, usually showing little to no signs of rot.

I could go on but my point is the only way to make any game truly "Realistic" is to go outside and play a game IRL.
