hm coolio. but is there a way to set up a level, or just location/interaction as when a quest starts? i've had quite a thrilling surprise with the enclave quests when i just grabbed the flamer and later got ambushed. but that happened because i was testing my mods and CoC'd directly into the world, bypassing the vault exit and everything. would i get a similar experience with this mod, or does it requite and conscious choice of crafting these rings?
just curious, i'm not sure if that is something possible without script extender
I had similar experiences when testing this mod, because I would fast travel 'cold' into the quest locations. I got hit pretty hard a few times. As noted in the response a few comments earlier, I do (or did) intend to also set up level based triggers. The problem with that is that whenver I pick a level trigger for each quest, I'm probably going to have more people disagree with me than agree with me. ::D I could make the trigger levels user-configurable, but that's a fair bit of work, and kind of amounts to the same player choice that already exists in crafting and equipping the rings.
But yes it's easy to add a level gate. I was considering something like levels 15-50 in steps of 5. The Heavy Incinerator and Halloween Pack would be down the low end of that scale, the Enclave and X-02 quests would be near the top.
I guess if anyone didn't like those level triggers they could just equip the ring and have the quest start.
what about interaction? i started some quests by just looting someone, or just from reading a terminal that way i get no trigger at vault exit, and a lill more immersive choice when to start a quest
Another good suggestion. I don't want to overlap really with that mod, which is a good mod (as I understand it) and has existed for a while. I did write a delay start mod for Tunnel Snakes, which is on Bethesda.Net but I don't think I posted it to Nexus.
What's the state of the CC Delayed Start mod? Is it being actively managed? I could potentially make a mod that covers all CC, but the 'gap' that was in most urgent need of covering was this Next Gen CC content.
Can you setup a "default" setting from the start? Like all showing up at level 20 (along with DLC) or at more regular level intervals or main quest timing?
Yes I was planning to add that. The first step was to put the quests under player control as that gives maximum flexibility. You could for example manually start the quests at level 20.
To be honest I would probably start the quests at different levels, as a default. While the easier ones suit level 20 or even lower, things like the Enclave missions are more like post-game level, not least because of the types of gear that are used against you and can be looted.
