1. Does this work with the Next Gen update? Yes. Textures are not game version dependent. 2. Description states this includes textures for all DLC yet DLCs are not listed as requirements, why? If for whatever reason you don't own the DLC(s), the game will simply ignore the included DLC textures.
"Manual installation is NOT supported nor recommended" ---------------------------------------------- Contextually, I think you mean "manual installation of loose files..."?? It's just with your current description just above this section already prominently recommending folks install with a mod manager, as-is this bold line could be read as you either think manual modding as a methodology overall is a bad idea, or you think manual modding is something folks would only do with loose files? But manual modding to install an esp with a ba2 is easy in FO4 - and if using the offline GOG version of the game, and not installing hundreds of mods or using several proflies, it's a lot easier to mod manually than bother with a manager. Using a manager or not is very much use-case dependent.
It's not really about modding methodologies. It's more so that from a mod author's perspective it's a lot easier to provide support when a mod manager is used since I can just take a quick glance at a modlist and immediately see if there's any flags or warnings from the manager that the user may have not seeing or identify known mod incompatibilities and so on. At least that's the case for me. Whatever method someone chooses to mod their game is up to them, I'm simply not offering any sort of support for manual installations, that's really all it is.
these are really good! i checked out your other mods and the deathclaw retexture is impressive as well! any chances the creature can get the same treatment? your robot retexture is probably the best in the nexus right now. and yes! i tried them all! lol :D
Thanks! I'm not sure if I'll do any more re-textures anytime soon since I'm not really playing the game at the moment. I do have a few unfinished ones I was working on back when I made this, mainly a bloatfly and a cat, but I don't want to publish those in their current state.
I don't know why, but every time I start the game up, this mod is disabled.. I can't figure out why. I go in and re-enable it and the game reloads everything and it shows up in the mod list again, but it's weird - anyone else experiencing this?
Hi, what Mod Manager do you use? I can see from your download history that you're using the BA2 version. I downloaded the BA2 file and installed it with MO2 and it worked fine (loaded the game a few times to be sure) Maybe your download is corrupted and your mod manager isn't recognizing it?
I'm using Vortex. Tried both the stable and beta versions. And the mod works (so far as I can tell, I've only encountered Codsworth so far with this playthrough - decided to start over [again.. lmao]). It's just every time I go in to start the game, I have to go into my mods list and re-enable the mod. I don't know why it keeps getting disabled on game exit - it stays enable in the Vortex mod screen and everything. It's just disabled in-game. It's very weird.
Ok, thanks for the detailed explanation. I don't really have experience with Vortex, but I've heard of similar issues with other mods in the past. If you can help me with some testing, can you download the file manually, extract the 7zip downloaded file and then re compress the extracted files as a normal zip and import it into Vortex (i believe you can just drag and drop the zip file into Vortex) I believe Vortex has issues with some 7zip archives depending on how they were created, but I need someone who's currently having issues to test it for me to be sure. The ESP file that comes with the mod is completely empty, it's basically a dummy file that's only used to load the BA2 archive, so it doesn't really conflict with anything. If a regular zip file works I'll re-upload everything as regular zips.
No dice. I downloaded it manually, extracted it with 7-Zip and then re-Zipped as a normal Zip file and then added it to Vortex - still disables itself on every exit. Also, within the Mods section in Fallout 4 itself, it always sits at the very bottom of the load order, and I can't move it anywhere else.. not sure if that's related or not.
I'm a bit lost on this one :( , I cannot replicate the problem on my end. I went ahead and installed Vortex but it seems to work fine for me. I don't have other users reporting this problem either so I'm not sure how I can help. I apologize and appreciate you took the time for testing a bit.
Still didn't work. Drats. I believe the mod -does- work, and after I enable it in the mod list inside Fallout 4 it stays active for that play session. Just when I quit and exit, I have to re-enable it when I start playing the next time
Damn, no idea what it could be then. What about the loose version? You'll need to do the INI change described under the installation section in the description but that version might work for you.
May be, I just used CAO to create the BA2s, but then again, I don't have any other reports like this and I can't replicate the problem with either MO2 nor Vortex, so I'm a bit clueless.
What Mod Manager do you use? I just downloaded the BA2 file from here and tested it a few times with MO2 and it worked perfectly fine for me.
Forgot to add, you can try manual download for the BA2 archive and just import the downloaded file into your mod manager. Both MO2 and Vortex support drag & drop, so you can just drop the 7zip archive into your Mod Manager and install it that way.
robots need more love in this game and community, specifically 4k textures. these unfortunately still look wayyy too muddled for me possibly not a problem with the textures though, could be a mesh problem. so i'll give these a try, thanks
Yes, unfortunately there's too many parts cramped into single textures, so it's more of an UV mapping issue than anything else. For example, even at 8K the Mister Handy's eyes look low res because it's just a tiny spot of the whole texture. There are already a lot of 4K textures in this pack, which is the reason for the 1GB size of the pack. The only way to improve that would be to re-do many of the meshes so that smaller parts get individual separate textures, but that also has the downside of increasing draw calls and VRAM utilization. I could double the resolution of some of the smaller textures, I just thought it wasn't worth it.
I've got to check this out when i get some free time! These look really nice in the shots... Would it be possible to have a couple side by side comparisons with vanilla? I know this mod's gotta cover a TON of textures so I absolutely don't expect pictures of everything but it would be really nice to have a few shots of a vanilla textured robot next to one of your retextures just to give an idea of how they compare.
I understand! Only if you get a chance; thank you for considering it. If I get some free time myself I will try to get some side by side shots and submit them :) I really appreciate the extra shots you added with a more neutral ENB, btw, they're also a great help.

I made another ESP (also ESL flagged) and uploaded it to my google drive, can you please try downloading and replacing the original ESP with this one and see if it helps?

Have tried other Robot textures but these are my favorite so far!
