Imagine using the base object Swapper to swap out all the fake lighting for real lighting or dynamic lighting. I guess it would be super compatible if this is possible to do.

you don't know HOW MUCH I appreciate such mods.

been a long time questioning the logic, who set up the oil lamp in the starter house - sanctuary.
IN FACT I'm not a modder, but there should be a mod with the extra long title "whoever leaves a light on, will join the ghoul's rave party"

    thank you.

NB:  first trial not working, 3 light source in sanctuary house, 2 oil lamps - 1 candle, still leaving light beam of unknown origin.
Added a picture, after I use NAC-X darkernights and everything possible to make it pitch dark. In comparison, the silhouettes contrast should make clear of what the character doing :)

      Hello athena1978,

I really appreciate you liking my mod, it might not seem like much but it gives me the motivation to continue working on mods for a game and community I hold dearly. I was very surprised someone had not made a mod previously for this, someone made something similar for Sanctuary and Starlight Drive-In, but not for the others.

It particularly annoyed me that when using "Scrap Anything" if you scrap a prefab it looks really unappealing as light elements are scattered in the sky which can ruin a whole build plan.

That's a really long way to say I appreciate it.

Just to confirm your last paragraph you mention leftover light beams, is this from my mod?

      Warm regards,
      Kanybis

not a light beam, I think it's light emitted from the oil lamp which I have removed, but it's still there.

But it's okay, with your mod now it can be really really dark (even without NAC X darker nights). I've set up a light switch for the whole sanctuary, eventhough FO4 stealth gameplay is kinda weird, but it's IMMERSIVE to pick up the intruders one by one in the dark :)

this is great, however the issue i see is that these objects still exist and it would be better if they caused their own lighting, but remove the fake lighting that doesn't come from the object in question.

      Hey Cubbyman1,

I appreciate you taking the time to comment and support my mod. Unfortunately Bethesda's implementation of lighting is done very poorly, and rather then making the lighting better, they chose to cut corners and as such, lighting has unnatural effects (clipping, no shadows etc.)

So instead what they did was add fake lighting to give a more natural appearance, you can test this out in game by going into a vanilla save, looking at a prefab light (like shown in the thumbnail) then loading my mod and scrapping the light then placing a settlement light. You will notice it looks different that is because they use different methods.

But to answer you main question "this is great, however the issue i see is that these objects still exist and it would be better if they caused their own lighting, but remove the fake lighting that doesn't come from the object in question. " I would love to do a updated/revised version. Check back in a few weeks.

      Thanks muchly.

      Regards,
      Kanybis

um, hmn, ok, what about using other existing objects, like use the glow from the Nuka cola victory, i believe that adds it's own light to the object, but it also doesn't have the shadows, and to be honest i don't care i just like the mood lighting, bethesda for some odd reason made all  of their build menu lights that nasty new age white light color instead of a more lore friendly slight dark orange like the old lights were back in the day.

i hate the look of LED's nowadays, some they have altered by adding color to the transparent glass or plastic or whatever they use to add in the color and these are nice, but that white light is so damn ugly in this game and more often than not hurts your eyes, especially in the institute, hell i have to go out of my way to find darker institute texture overhauls to make it far easier to view things down there lol, i also had to darken their clothing because again way to damn bright lol, like i get the esthetic they were going for with the institute but damn they really didn't have to blind people lol.

for now i'm going to track this mod, so when you do release an update on it i will get the notification and i will be able to see what you added.

good idea, but i saw the first and second pic that the vanilla lighting is looks like more reality than the mod lightning, just my mind:)

      Hey Ctsoldier,

Thanks for supporting my mod. I appreciate your input, it provides value and helps me to make my mods the best they can be. The main issue I am trying to solve is leftover light elements that happen when you scrap the original light mesh. These light meshes and light elements are two different things, if i tried to remove both, and then add a light (like you would through the settlement system) the lighting clips through walls and other meshes like how it does with the pip boy.

TLDR: the original vanilla lighting looks better because its placed in a way that looks more natural, but while good visually. From a gameplay perspective it is worse.

I hope this answers your question,

    Hello,

little off topic question, I'm looking for mods that implement ray/path tracing for FO4. Is there something like that?

    TY for info

      Hey Ddtotab,

Thanks for supporting my mod. As for another that adds raytracing? raytracing is more of a engine level thing, so mods cant really change that (you might be able to find something if you search enough). However for a next to raytracing level experience id recommend; "Ghost ENB" paired with "Enhanced Lights and FX"

Here's links to the following mentioned mods:
      ELFX - (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13596)
      Ghost ENB - (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31108)

      I hope this helps,
      Kanybis
