USO when used by itself adds all its custom items to submenu's under the "USO Integrated" build category as well as almost all vanilla and DLC (with the appropriate DLC addon) items. The subcategories move some item types into different subsets than the Bethesda default primarily to address some game engine issues with the number of items in each submenu category as well as to attempt to make the large amount of items logical in their groupings.
I strongly advise that you spend some time going through the entire menu structure to familiarize yourself with how things are grouped and what subcategories appear in each section (the menu is several layers deep so it's useful to do a deep dive through each section to see what's available). If you can't find a base game or DLC item keep looking, I can assure you nothing is lost - it's all in the menu in what seemed to me like a logical position.
USO doesn't move the quest items you build to create the molecular relay or to conduct the vault-tec experiments from the default Special menu (this menu only appears when there's an item in it that you meet the quest stage and location requirements to build) and in fact doesn't touch the game file records for these items at all. It does move the Robot workbench into the USO menu in the section with all other workbenches.
Items from other mods and from CC aren't moved into the USO menu (although there's a secondary copy of the CC menu in the USO Integrated menu to help users who have a mod conflict from another USO mod that blocks access to that menu) so if you are using those together with USO you'll see them in non USO menu categories. Any base game or DLC items that other mods edit the recipe for may appear in another location other than the USO menu based on load order etc.
The generic compatibility patch is just designed to force the USO menu to appear if it's blocked by another mod. If you already can see the menu then it won't help (and will sometimes do what you are seeing).
Have you tested on a save that just has the USO series active and no other mods? What you are describing is caused by a previewed item error - I created a patch for XBox/PS4 versions to hide a few Bethesda made items that were broken by the NextGen update but that patch wasn't necessary for PC users (more powerful hardware meant that those items just caused PC users a momentary stutter rather than the full crash console users got). It's possible if another mod (of any type) has edited an item model the preview file could be missing/corrupt or is in some other way hanging the system and that USO is simply pulling that item into the preview as is (if it's NPC's then it could be anything from a clothing, weapon or body mod, robot component models, or even some of the color palet files).
If you can test it on a save with only the USO mods active and absolutely no other mods of any sort running that will help identify if it's a mod conflict issue or its a genuine compatibility issue for your hardware / software setup. If after testing it's still happens with just USO can you let me know what OS and Graphic Card you are using (and what game graphics settings you've got) as that might give me an idea where the problem rests.
took me awhile but found the problem a mod called A-Body - Male Body Replacer unistalled it an replaced it with the superhero body mod stopped the crash on the NPC menu
This sounds like a mod conflict - USO moves Bethesda menu items under the USO Integrated menu so it could simply be that the conflict is that another mod has edited the razorgrain entry and reset it to the default menu with other food resources still under the USO Integrated menu otherwise something is conflicting with the food resources subsection of the USO Integrated menu (which should include both Bethesda items and USO added custom food resources).
This mos is trash; it removes the cages and arena parts from the settlement menu. It doesn't matter if you try to use the "Season Pass" file or even just the dlc2 file with the non season-pass file, the cages category is completely removed and none of the items are relocated anywhere. Pathetic.
Cages and Arena parts are moved to the the NPC's section of the USO Integrated Menu with additional USO custom cages added to the Bethesda DLC items. If these items aren't visible to you then one of the following is happening with your install:
another mod is installed that is blocking the menu appearing (the USO generic override patch may resolve this - see additional files)
the season pass / wasteland workshop DLC plugin is not installed and active
the settlement menu is damaged (using one of the many menu repair holotape mods should fix this)
USO is one of the most widely used mods on PS4 and has a significant user base on other platforms as well as a strong PC user base on Bethesda's mod site. It has been available since before the release of DLC content and was actively updated with significant user feedback until it reached it's current 'final' form around 8 years ago. All of it's features including cages and arena parts work under USO. Due to the complexity and limitations of modding it's possible that any mod (including USO) may experience conflicts with other mods that cannot be resolved requiring the user to chose between conflicting mods.
I just wanted to jump on here and thank You AndrewCX and Mike35 for the integration of your two Mods, I know it's hard to believe but earlier that very day I was wishing for just that very thing. It works so wonderfully and the two mods work so well together that I wanted to give you both my appreciation for your work and efforts. Thanks!!!! You are Appreciated!
In addition to the main USO mod, I also download the contraptions add on but I cannot find the clean elevators. I looked everywhere. Do I need to put the mod lower in load order maybe?
Hello, I have an issue where walls and other items do not snap. I've been trying to build shacks and houses but it's incredibly difficult since a lot of the walls don't snap together or to floors, if there is any kind of solution to this issue can somebody let me know. Thank you.
Adding snap points to walls etc is something that isn't possible within the PS4 mod restrictions imposed by Sony (and as stated in the description USO is identical on all platforms). Items that are retextures of vanilla/dlc build menu wall/floor/roof items have snap points identical to the base item however those that either aren't part of the vanilla/dlc build options (industrial prefabs for instance) or are one of the handful of custom items in these categories don't have snap points and require use of various building techniques such as the rug / pillar glitch (or place anywhere style mods) for precision placement - these non-snapping items account for only a small minority of build pieces though in USO.
If items that should snap (ie those that are part of the vanilla/dlc build sets) aren't snapping then you have an issue caused by another mod modifying the item and impacting the snap points - the easiest way to test for this is to look at one of the USO retextures of the same item (ie different color/pattern for wood/metal/concrete/barn/vault walls etc) if the USO retexture snaps but the vanilla item doesn't then another mod is causing the issue (USO moves vanilla items into it's build menu but doesn't alter the items themselves so it's possible for the item to appear under the USO Integrated menu but still to have been edited by another mod).
I just started up a new game and the USO submenu isnt there. I played around until I only had USO as my only object mod but I cant get it work. without it I cant build concrete structures or use alot of the connectors. not game braking but if anyone has some ideas, lmk.
It sounds like your install is damaged. If you've previously installed script injected workshop item mods and didn't use a scripted uninstaller you may have caused certain menu categories to disappear. You can check this by disabling all mods and checking whether you have all menu categories in the build menu - USO retasks the vanilla "Raider" menu so if that's missing without mods that will be the cause of your issues. You can either use one of the menu repair holotape mods from other authors or fully uninstall FO4 (including all data/preferences etc) and then do a completely fresh install to restore the default menu after which you can then install USO.
Thank you for this. Ironically, given I've always played on PC, and had access to almost any mod I wanted, I'd always eyed up the PlayStation version of this, because it looked SO GOOD.
Since I reinstalled the game a few days ago, I decided to grab this instead of Homemaker (it's a great mod, but has some unresolved bugs), and wow… my jaw has dropped at your creativity on several occasions. I think this also might be why I prefer watching PS4/5 build videos over those done on PC; the limitations really require ingenuity and creativity. I mean…those beds with the abstract designs are absolutely fantastic, and they're a great example of what I'm talking about! Thank you very much!
The only minor issue I've experienced is that USO has two clickable icons/entries in the Workshop. Though, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, because it makes navigation a bit easier if you're hopping around a lot. It could also be something on my end, since this is essentially my testing save, so I've been juggling my load order a bit. I'll be curious to see if it persists once I begin a new save.
