Love the idea of this mod.

But wouldn’t it make more sense to implement the effect as a temporary perk like well rested instead of an effect and shouldn’t it be possible to do this without touching hc manager by simply adding the 2 perks so that the mod has a much higher compatibility?

Thats not meant to criticise your mod, it’s just a suggestion.

For the temporary effect bit, it was just made to mimic the system 76 has, where as long as you're within that threshold you gain the positive effects.

For the HC Manager part, it's most likely possible, I can't recall why exactly why I needed to use it.

Happy you like the idea of the mod though :)

Does this remove the debuffs from being peckish/thirsty?  I have been looking hard for a mod that pretty much turns Hunger and Thirst to Fallout 76 mechanics.  Where I don't have to worry about taking damage from hunger or thirst when I'm trying to experiment with settlement building.  Also, if I have Survival Needs, how does that work?

Edit: Well I tried it with Survival Options and I'm fully fed and hydrated and no buffs. :-(
2nd Edit:  Okay, I had originally downloaded the ESL and I wasn't getting anything.  Then I download the optional ESP and now I'm getting the Well Fed buff but not the Well Hydrated one.
3rd Edit: Disabled the ESL and I'm still getting the Well Fed buff but not the Well Hydrated one.

This version of the mod only gives benefits for being Well Fed and Well Hydrated, this is a standalone version of another mod I made, the "full" version doesn't get rid of downsides, but does severely negate them, it also makes another handful of changes of which are all doccumented there.:
(SURVIVAL) - More Accessible Survival Rebalance at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

As for the weird functionality part, I am truly stumped on that bit as I do test both the ESP's and ESL's on my side just to make sure, and they both work on my end as expected.

The only thing I could think is conflicts with other mods, or potentially something done with the Next Gen update, potentially the HC_Manager quest which the mod does rely on for functionality.

Although I'm not 100% how that works and how the game deals with multiple plugins touching the same quest, if disabling other mods temporarily to test fixes it, then that would be my best guess.

I hope this information helps you a bit, and I'm sorry you've had difficulties with the mod.

I called it Survival Needs, my bad, it's Survival Options.  I think that's the only mod I'm using that has any affect on the hunger/thirst meters.

I might have to try this out.

It reminds me of a mod idea I had where after a while you need to poop n pee and if you don't, it incurs the movement speed debuff.  If you don't relieve yourself soon enough, you crap your pants and suffer a -10 CHR debuff until you change your pants because no one wants to talk to someone who soiled themselves and smells like a butt.

      Okay, that's just weird.

Why not add a pregnancy mechanic while we're at it 😬
