i have always wanted a more involved quest with the aliens in some way, but this game did such a piss poor job in almost every storyline, it's like they added the alien as just a curiosity quest, it's basically a nothing quest, it would have been cool if it were more involved, like just take for example the content that's already there, so we see the crashed ship and we follow the green blood to the cave then we find the alien who for some reason only shoots at you and you kill it and loot it's body for it's special gun, like ok bethesda why not write anything interesting for once? lol.
we noticed the alien was right next to a radio that was transmitting a signal so perhaps the next best thing would be to involve a quest that involves the player tuning to that station on your pip-boy as they listen to the static, and depending on where they are on the map are being lead to a location, but say the signal isn't strong enough, so then you are tasked to go to those radio towers across the map to boost the signal, perhaps not all of them, just some of them need to be activated to give the signal a significant boost.
then the signal becomes stronger leading the player to some isolated area of the map, the story could go anywhere from there, there could be good aliens or bad aliens or maybe the one who shot at you had no way of communicating and assumed you might just kill him which is why he chose that stance to defend himself, perhaps the aliens had tech that they could use to understand you but because his ship crashed his tech was damaged and he just assumed you were hostile.
but let's say later in that quest you come across some men in black, but they aren't men from the government, say they look like the mysterious creepy men in black that we have heard stories about for over the last 100 years, but these men in black don't speak with their mouths, they speak through their minds and have a strange power of persuasion that people easily fall for, into your mind and they are searching for the craft of where the aliens are, but these mysterious men in black have other they function sort of like the coursers do, they are kind of an advanced robotic people, they have very pale skin but they wear clean black suites with top hats and sunglasses, they are hairless and without emotion, the gen one synths hold this look well enough, but not the ones where you can see their metal parts, the ones that have that fake pale skin that you can clearly tell is fake.
these MIB appear to be helping the Zeta aliens, but you find out they are not there to save these aliens, they are there to finish them off, btw the ZETA aliens can also speak telepathically, they might still use their mouths to talk to each other, but you can only understand them when they speak to you through your mind.
anyway, the story could go literally anywhere, this is just a very short example of where it could lead.
i come up with ideas all the time for mods, hell i don't think i have ever run out of ideas to be honest.
sorry this is just an example of me fanboying in the comments on my crazy ideas, but hey it's good to know that people can mess around with your work and create something else if they want.
