About this mod

Increases the hidden effect which makes each piece of equipped power-armour negate 5% of damage. This makes it 7% each, totalling 42% negation with six PA-pieces.

Esp-light plugin. No scripts.

Introduction:

I like how Fallout 76 handles its power armour, but as much as I'd like to make a full overhaul (including DR, ER, etc.), that would cause many issues and conflicts with other mods. Instead I've created this simple, lightweight mod that only edits one value in the Creation Kit. 

What this mod does:

In vanilla FO4, there is a hidden effect that causes each piece of equipped power-armour to negate 5% of incoming damage. This applies to both you and NPCs. Meanwhile, Fallout 76 uses lower resistances as well as a higher damage-reduction/negation value of 7%. 

The thing about damage resistance is that you get diminishing returns once your DR, ER, etc. are high enough. Meanwhile, damage reduction/negation acts as is and works alongside the resistance calculations, so even a 2% difference per part can go a long way.

With this mod, you now negate 7% of incoming damage for every piece of power armour you have equipped. So with a full suit, you now have a 42% negation compared to vanilla 30%. That 12% can be a lifesaver at times, and it adds a bit of Fallout 76 style to your game. 

Installation/removal:

Install/remove manually or with a mod manager. This is an esp-light/espfe plugin that only makes one simple change, and does not edit scripts or other variables.

I'd suggest exiting and re-entering your power armour if you load a save which has you in it upon first loading the mod. That should update the effect.
