You can also alter weapon mods and add/increase the SecondaryDamage modifier. If you look at the gauss bayonet mod I cobbled together, I made the modifier a bit higher than other bayonet mods so it does more damage than a regular bayoneted weapon. I think alternative to doubling the damage of Basher (when we get the CK) would be to make Big Leagues effect bash damage. You'd end up with the same damage multiplier as this mod (with both perks maxed) plus crits and disarms.
That's actually a great idea, never thought to add bash damage increases to the Big Leagues perk. I think it can be done with FO4Edit, no need to wait for the CK.
And good to know about the SecondaryDamage modifier, I wasn't aware that it referred to the bash damage.
I suppose I'll update this mod sometime soon with an optional version that affects the Big Leagues perk.
I was thinking about doing this myself to. Only I wanted to increase the base damage to be the same as a bayoneted weapon and increase the damage bonus from your strength stat significantly.
Basher is still a waste of space perk, like Awareness or VANS. When the CK is released, it will probably get erased for a completely different, therefore useful, perk.
Oh, I hope you can make bashing do more damage without the perk. I've never once used it outside of fighting rad roaches, and don't want to spend a perk point on it.
