About this mod

Fixes for Covenant turrets, object ownership, scrapping beds, assigning residents to jobs after the player takes ownership of a settlement.

This mod fixes bugs in the Covenant that still remain in the vanilla version 1.10.163:

  • Turrets do not attack the Player when all Covenant residents are hostile. For example, after saving Amelia in the quest Human Error or killing Doc Chambers.
  • After taking control of the workshop, the turrets essentially do not belong to the settlement and live their own lives. Under certain conditions, they can attack the Player, his companions, or other turrets created by the Player. They cannot be scrapped or moved.
  • Turrets do not participate in the defense of the settlement during an attack. Their defense stats are zero.
  • After taking the workshop by battle, some junk in the settlement can only be stolen.

This is a result of the fact that technically Bethesda simply copied the Compound faction's turrets and assigned them to the Covenant settlement faction only for the duration of the Human Error quest. After completing the quest, the turrets actually side with Compound.

What does this mod do

  • Replaces turrets in the Covenant with regular settlement turrets with the correct faction when the player first appears in the location.

After obtaining a workshop:

  • All objects in the settlement become available.
  • Ownership of objects is cleared.
  • It becomes possible to move and remove beds.
  • After sleeping or leaving the location, all corpses in the settlement are cleared.
  • Covenant residents can be assigned to jobs.


About beds

Bunk beds in Covenant House actually only provide one sleeping space in the settlement statistics. Some beds in Covenant are double, but look like regular beds. These beds have been renamed. But please note that due to engine limitations, you cannot assign two settlers to one double bed.

Quest Human Error

If there was no deal with Dr. Chambers, and you have already taken control of the Covenant workshop, then when visiting the Compound, everyone will initially be hostile to the Player, and Amelia will be dead. For example, if you clear out the Covenant and kill Honest Dan before taking the test to Swanson and before visiting the Compound.

Installing the mod

This mod can be installed at any time before obtaining the workshop. And preferably:
  • Before the start of the Human Error quest
  • Before the attack on the Covenant

Disabling the mod

You can disable the mod after obtaining the Covenant Workshop. But:
  • After removing the mod, it will be impossible to disassemble the beds.
  • If you clear a settlement by battle, then before removing the mod you need to either sleep or leave the location so that all the corpses are removed.
