I heard that the T-60 was ment to be the T-45 in fallout 4, but Bethesda changed it as a whole new power armor with lore. Plus I wish there was a mod that makes the BOS have maybe 3 or 4 troops wearing T-60 so its rare and the other just use T-45 and T-51.
Since you've changed the T60 lore in this way, you now also have to make sure it only spawns on Brotherhood soldiers and is only sold by Proctor Teagan, as well as eliminating the Atom Cat's having T60, to fit in with this new lore.
That's true, my eyes must have skipped over that detail. Although even considering that, it makes far more sense for the Atom Cat's to use T45, which is much, much easier and cheaper to maintain, not to mention, available in far greater numbers (in this lore) than T60. Though that would probably be out of scope for this "fix" lol
Fortunately, Fallout 76's lore makes more sense: T45 was created, then T51. However the T51 was a "garage queen". It was brand new tech design that was great when it worked, but expensive and time consuming to repair. The T60 was a "bridge" created using the knowledge gained from designing the T45 and T51. Almost as good as the T51, almost as easy to repair as the T45. That maintains that the T51 was the pinnacle of protection, but far more soldiers still used the T60.
thanks for posting this again. Bethesda has never cared about consistency with the Black Isle games. They only care about " Hey lets do this cool thing, even if it screws over Fallouts 1 and 2". And any lore " added" by Fallout 76 should be scrutinized as that game is a massive retcon to the entire Franchise and should be deemed not canon to Fallouts 1 and 2, and FNV.
Is the phrase "Before the Great War" tripping you up? I'm pretty sure it just means that T-51 was "pinnacle" prior to T-60's adoption by the U.S. Military during the great war.
Apparently T60 armor is a stop-gap upgrade for the T45 suits. As the US army's demand for Power Armor began to eclipse their ability to build and maintain their pre-existing T51 suits due to how expensive and difficult they were to make. Thus the T60 was made - taking the performance improvements from the T51's energy source, but using cheaper and easier to work with materials like the T45 was made from. Not as good as T51, but far more reliable than T45 that has fallen out of favor and service comeby the 2070s.
Is there any way to remove the loading screen bits? The way I've always seen the T-60, was West-Tek bringing in old suits of T-45 Power Armor and retrofitting them with some newer tech and thicker armor. I do still hold the lore that the T-51 was the best, but it was more expensive to make, hence why they started using the more affordable T-60 over the better protected T-51.
Honestly, I always saw it this way: The T-51 is older, but was designed to be more protective and stronger. However, that means it was expensive to manufacture. the T-60 didn't have the raw protective power of the T-51, but was cheaper and easier to make (plus they aged better over the ~200 years since the great war, explaining why the T-51 preforms worse now)

Perhaps as an alternative version or something, not too sure yet.
