Started my game after the Next Gen Update, found Power Armor, realized that running out of power was not my idea of fun, so i installed this mod - and it works!

on the newest update. it works on new saves. get the power armor from the crashed vertibird and sprint past concord and the core is still 100/100.

i already have a mod that does this, but i do agree, it makes immersive sense to make this a standard in the lore of the game, hell i end up using the same core for not only my power armor but sometimes i use a separate core for my guns to give them a sort of unlimited ammo, they do run out, but not very quickly, the mod author made it for the power armor, not my gun lol, that was achieved through the armorsmith mod where you can change your guns ammo to something else.

I never use fusion core on my weapon such as Gatling Laser due to the usage is kinda asking for drain too quick. For gameplay, It must have balance between being OP and usable with its limits. My thought that if I make another one but for weapon ammunition, Someone has to make a weapon or framework or whole overhaul mod with overheat and cool down system like Sentry Bot does. That'll make the weapon not too op and balance with the infinite ammo capacity.

As for the Ammo changing, Are you talking about Loads of Ammo? That's the mod that lets you change the ammo. Armorsmith does the whole armor crafting.

well if you want that, i saw a mod recently come out that adds recharging guns back from one of the previous fallout games for this game, well they are inspired by that gun, anyway i haven't tried that mod yet, but it was pretty recent within the last month or so.

i think maybe you just look up recharge rifle or something like that.

EDIT: actually it came out a while ago, but for some reason i remember something like this releasing recently. Recharger Gun is one that came out a while back.

Yes, there's a second mod that adds the recharger pistol/rifle from Fallout New Vegas to FO4.  Just search for 'recharger' in Nexus, you'll see both.  The newer one is by ShimSham000 (F4NV Recharger Weaponry), and it has worked pretty well for me.

i forgot to answer the last part of your question, sorry, so armor smith mod that changes the workbench in the game allows you to change all kinds of things, so with that mod it allows you to change the ammo type in the gun your using and it's any gun from what i can tell, and sometimes depending on the kind of ammo type you choose it can even boost the damage significantly, for some reason the fusion core only adds ammo length or almost unlimited ammo and not the added on damage effect, but i think the fatman shells do add damage, i have not tried that ammo on anything but a fatman though, but i should give it a try and see what happens.

i just hope it doesn't crash my game, because some mods can cause this, like the bio courser pistoles, you don't want to make any major changes to these guns because it will cause CTD to your game, some weapons it's finicky that way.

thanks i forgot the name and how to find it, but i still have yet to play my game with those yet, as i can do somewhat the same thing with the built in guns of the game by using this tool and changing my ammo in any gun to use the fusion cores.

"In previous installments of the Fallout franchise, power armor was said to be powered by a TX-28 microfusion pack that can power the suit for over a century. It is never explained why a brand-new pack can be exhausted within 24 hours."

Thanks, 'gameplay balance' is a pox and so is B*thesda.
