As of 8-14-2023, it works! Easy to use. Drop the SPECIAL book from your inventory, pick it up, choose stat, rinse & repeat. No need to dupe the book. Great mod!
For Bat file users, a notepad document in the Fallout 4 folder that removes then adds each of the add stat perks (obtainable in the Nukapedia/Fallout Wiki) is reusable. Removing the perks in question will not lower the stat points but does mean the next instance is still Rank 1 and still ups your stats. Create the document, name it, then just console in bat (name) and Bob's your uncle.
Either i got a mod that SOMEHOW conflicts with this mod OR the latest beth' patch caused this mod to be unusable. I request someone look into the latter.
Been a while but finally checked it out and the mods is still good. So sadly seems you have a mod conflict (really odd) or your client isnt loading invalid assets correctly.
There was a mod on the PS4 where you could do something similar like this, but you crafted the books and it also came with a potion where it give you 1 minut to use as many books as possible and then however many you used would count towards your actual stats and would enable you to move heavy things like fallen enemies in power armor. So far it seems like the console commands dont effect the strength in the same manner as I had issues just moving a really fat radroach, but will this enable me to that?
is there anyway to make it so there are a few books kicking around in the world. it would feels a little special when you find one out in the world or a drop off a rare enemy thinking like the dragonblood mod back in skyrim just not as abundant
This wasn't working for me, I couldn't "scrap" the book in the build menu.. so my workaround is to jump in the air.. and hit "~" mid air (to bring up the console. then typeplayer.placeatme 001A62D4 60then turn off the console. and you'll land with the books all around, then just use them like normal.
If you're still interested in working on this in the future, when the GECK comes out (because I assume you'll need GECK functionality for this) you could look into making the 'used' book usable again, and asks you to remove a point from your special. Then, it disables itself, gives you a copy of the original, allowing you to reallocate that point.
Basically, just a floater SPECIAL point you could reuse at any time.
