I tried getting as precise as I could but it isn't perfect. I was setting this up for 1280x960, so on higher resolutions you might be seeing some extra pixels that weren't showing up for me while I was trying to adjust it. If you have this problem, the Z setting is for adjusting how the hud is vertically centered, and the Y setting is for zooming in/out.
For example if you see gaps in the top corners of your screen but not on the bottom ones, that means the hud is not centered properly and you need to adjust the Z setting. If you tweak the Z setting and now you see no gaps anywhere, that means you have some room to zoom out with the Y setting. Rinse and repeat. I got tired of doing this after a while but if you feel like getting it more precise you'll probably be editing decimal values.
