Thankfully, MCM detects that the files arent placed correctly and the mod wouldnt work. Just create a "textures" directory, then another "weapons" directory inside that, and put "laserweapons" in there. Fixed.
The mod works, but the author didn't properly set up the folder paths. If you still want to use this mod you'll have to do a few extra steps:
1. Download manually and UNZIP the mod. You should get a folder called "laserweapons" (with a bunch of files inside). 2. On your desktop, create a series of subfolders with this kind of path: data > textures > weapons 3. Drag and drop the "laserweapons" folder into the "weapons" folder. 4. ZIP up the "data" folder, feel free to rename the new zip file to something that makes sense. 5. Use your favorite mod manager (Vortex/MO2/etc.) and install the new zip file that you just created.
You should be good to go. Easily test this by spawning a laser rifle in-game if you already don't have one.
Hey balogm, you still around? I sent you a message with more detail about the mod--having some issues with corrupt Diffuse textures. Every Diffuse texture that's bad also has a corresponding JPG file for some reason. Any idea what might be going on?
What are the texture resolutions? 117 MB for a simple weapon reskin? This must be 4K or even 8K? If so, please note that in the description, please? I mod the game extensively, and avoid anything over 2K resolution, even though I'm running a new build with i4790 Devil's Canyon and 980ti GPU. Enough 4K and 8K mods will cause even my rig to chug and stutter, eventually.
I used that new dds program from that rusdian fella to upgrade some dds images to ul7. Dont think that affects zip but will affect some dds programs like ddsview from opening it. Try diff zip programs to unzip it. I re tryed works finr for me.

Thanks!
If so I'd love to see a retex of only the green bits.
So everything else left untouched (wires, metal etc) but just the horrible green-plasitcy colour changed to your own black retex
Would send much love forever
I like the screenshots, though
