"The Silence of the Lambs" is a 1991 American psychological horror film directed by Jonathan Demme, based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Harris about the serial killer Hannibal Lecter. The Silence of the Lambs continues the plot of the film Red Dragon (2002) and precedes the events of the film Hannibal (2001). Starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.
Plot
The FBI is investigating a series of murders committed by an unknown serial killer. For his habit of skinning the women he killed, he was nicknamed “Buffalo Bill” (in honor of the American figure and entrepreneur Buffalo Bill, who killed bison). Finding no leads, the FBI decides to seek advice from a cannibal killer, a former psychiatrist, the dangerous Hannibal Lecter, who is in the isolation ward of a psychiatric hospital. A young cadet at the FBI Academy, Clarice Starling, goes to talk to him.
