I was originally using CBBE then during testing switched over to: FSM Body Textures 5.0 - Base Female The bodyslide preset I have is either SevenBase or SevenBase Slim. However, for the screenshots, I was using Vtaw's Swimsuit (Vtaw WD7 SB Bikini) which comes with its own soft body edited found in: Vtaw Wardrobe 7 - CBBE - BodySlide
I haven't gotten the rusty face bug lately due to this mod: Rusty Face Fix. To my knowledge, the rusty face bug usually happens when using Bethesda's High-Resolution texture pack. I'd recommend uninstalling that and download other modders' higher-quality texture packs, this will bring the rusty face bug to a minimum during your play-through.
Also, thank you! I have made many changes to her face and body over the years to get her to look just right! If I can recall the settings for FSM, I think it was: Dark nipples, no tan lines, pristine, clean shaven, CBBE Default, stiff, normal abs, bump mapping, Dry (Oni), 2K Face, scalp fix, Oni (All face textures), and install the bodyside presets.
Thanks so much! Idk, it's a major problem with Valkyr textures that keeps doing the rusty face, so that's why I stopped using FSM, I will give this combo a try tho!
This is not a preset, this is my personally created character hand crafted over the years. I can send you my character save files via link although I am not sure if it work.
Do you think it’s necessary to use saves and Face Ripper to transfer a preset, or is it much easier to use the Looks Мenu?! I think I saw a save preset button there. Although both cases will probably have problems without using plugins installed on you that make changes to the appearance.
I also play as an African American female. The soles came out great, but my hands are messed up. Textures seem melted together with a white stripe? Almost looks like a glove malfunction. Any thoughts?
Thanks for your feedback, can you please send a screenshot so I can assess it?
Also, what CBBE body replacer are you using? I did spend some time trying to make this compatible with others, only to replace the hands and feet. Due to the way, the textures are applied/ wrapped around the body, this may be the issue most likely at the hands and arms.
These are recent screenshots I've taken in-game for version 1.2 for example: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13Bqoeh4gGSG2NUwHBIVxBnLVURPZ7lxn?usp=sharing
Again, my retexture may not be that great, but it's something I will continue to improve on to make it work for everyone (hopefully)!
By the way, yes, the transitions look a little harsh and this applies not only to the hands. Before adding the lightened part to the base layer, you can try to make it more transparent around the edges.
Regarding the base color that is still present in your textures, it will still be incompatible with many cbbe body textures. The seams at the junction of the hand and body will be very prominent, as will likely be different textures on the legs. I previously sent you a link to a similar work for Skyrim. To understand what I'm talking about, look at the textures from this plugin. You need to try to make your textures roughly similar to those present in that plugin, completely exclude the main tone from them.
For a better understanding of what I'm trying to say: example#1 example#2
I also think you made a mistake by choosing to use hand textures in 4K resolution. With a 4K body texture, half this size is enough.
p.s. It may be difficult for you to understand me or my messages look a little rude, I apologize in advance if this is the case. Sometimes it is very difficult for me to convert thoughts into a message, considering that English is not my first language. I sincerely wish you all the best and I want your work to become more perfect. =)
These are good references, I have taken into consideration the two references provided. I am currently working on smoothing out the transitions hopefully this will reduce the merging to at least be very subtle. As you also mentioned before, this could be impossible to make the retexture compatible with the billions of CBBE retextures out there, hopes for the best right?
As for the 4k hand textures, I figured this is what everyone would be looking at the most via Pipboy, maybe..... lol I have revised the palms and soles to use 4k, assuming everyone is using the highest-quality textures.
Hey, thanks for downloading and giving my first retexture a try! I am not opposed to turning down the redness. I tried messing with it in different lighting conditions, I am also using OLYMPUS ENB on the most basic settings, but the soles and palms still seemed a little too light. Let me make a few adjustments before my eyelids start to turn into weights.
This should be resolved in version 1.1, if not could you please send me screenshots?

So I've been working on this ever since I got off work today. Thank you for the references! So, the way this works is that I'll think that it's too light/ dark in the editing software, but then when I load it up... due to certain lighting, it still seems off. I have tons of references including myself lol but just can't seem to get it right.
I'll have another upload tonight, hopefully, this one will work with other CBBE bodies other than Calientie's. There will still be some level of jank but like Todd said, "it just works!"
It's very cool and much appreciated that you're working on this bud :) Well examining my own hand, lol, I noticed that it tends to look paler than the rest of my body, same with the bottom of my feet. Perhaps there could be different variations to meet people's flavor or something
Hmm....Well I have the new 1.2 version. This version might be too bright.

It seems close but no cigar. You know I think what might be the issue is that the color is too 'orange' when it should be more on the 'white' side. If the color was toned down a bit more, and then a white palette was used instead of orange, it might be more realistic. I do love how this doesn't impact the body skin textures I have already installed, that's a really awesome touch
Mmmm... something is very strange here... I am not sure why they are still showing like this, I even went as far as changing the weather to the default for testing. ~ fw 15e command. I promise it's not Modder's privileges lol, Please see my images/ screenshots below, this is what it should look like.
Questions:
Are you using any other CBBE retexture other than the base Caliente? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15
Could you please send me a file save so I can try to replicate this?
Are you using any ENB settings? if so, which one?
Are there any other retextures/ shaders that may interfere?
For testing, I normally turn off all 467-ish mods I have and load up the vanilla Fallout 4, of course with the mods needed to get my retexture to work which should only be; Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE-. I have also downloaded the same mod files I’ve uploaded to the Nexus for testing.
These are the screenshots I've taken in-game and uploaded the texture file to a .jpg for viewing of version 1.2: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13Bqoeh4gGSG2NUwHBIVxBnLVURPZ7lxn?usp=sharing
I'm using FSM Body textures for women. I have waay too many save files to try and comb through to send sadly I'd send one over, but thanks to the bonehead way Bethesda labels their files in fallout 4, I literally have no way of knowing which character is which in the folder I always hated that.
As for enb, I am using PRC X - PhotoRealistic Commonwealth 10 - Legacy edition (Matrix) I used NAC for the weather. I guess perhaps sat might've gotten turned up, but really I don't think that that should be so extreme that it turns the skin soles orange like this I'm not sure why the soles are looking so orange, they just kinda are. I do see your enb doesn't look as bright as my enb, enbs can make things look brighter. I really wouldn't know what else to say
Of course, the color palette will change when using any reshade or enb presets. Given the huge amount of similar material that already exists, it is almost impossible to make this retexture fully compatible with all available filter options. Or the author will have to customize the color scheme for each personal user request. Therefore, I do not consider this problem to be the author's fault. Or to put it simply, this plugin is not compatible with any plugins that change the saturation of the game’s color palette.
The only thing I can advise you to do to verify the reason for the change in the saturation of the color palette is to try turning off everything that might influence it.
Well unfortunately its just too red for me dude. Not sure what else to say sadly, and im not going to vanillify my game just to get them looking not red. Wish I could get it to work
I completely agree with you. We often have to make a choice between what we like. While giving up something in favor of what we consider more important and necessary for us... that's just the way life works =(
Thank you for this feedback, I won’t get anyone’s hopes up but I’ll try to work on another version that may resolve some issues on the coloration and CBBE merging. Possibly over the weekend or sometime next week.
I won’t upload to the Nexus, I’ll just send a google drive link to your messages for testing purposes.
Hi. If I understood the author correctly, then the templates were added in the latest version of the plugin. Therefore, if you have skills in working with textures and have some kind of editor necessary for this, then you can try to make changes to the body textures of the fusion girl yourself.
The author will probably be able to add this option as an additional one later, but at the moment we have what we have. =)
Thank you for trying out my mod. However, I have not made any mods for other body retextures yet. I would like to stick with CBBE until I hone my skills in tackling this first. Since I am new to the modding scene this may take some time as I am still learning the ropes.
As SweetKate Mentioned, I have left the working files within the file structure for anyone who needs them. Please feel free to utilize them at your will. I will provide any support I can offer (which is not much at the moment lol).
1001Chances, If you have no experience with textures then you can tell me which fusion girl body texture you are using and I will try to make a custom version of this plugin for you. The second half of the day seems free for me. =)
It would be great if this was done as an overlays (with several brightness options). Completely changing the textures of the entire body for the sake of changing the textures of the feet and palms is somehow strange and not even very safe. There are a decent number of cbbe body texture packs out there at the moment that your work simply won't be compatible with. Not to mention that there are more detailed cbbe body meshes.
Even as just a resource in .psd or at least .png format it would be more useful.
p.s. And please check out the Femalebodydirty_d file. I don’t know if there will be problems with it when used in the game, but when I try to open it even on paint net, an error pops up.
Thanks for checking out my retexture, also thank you for your great feed back. Again, I really don’t know much about modding files, this was just a simple retexture I did back in February 2023. Making the palms and soles as an overlay with different brightness options would be a great idea! Unfortunately, this is kinda beyond my knowledge right now and I will have to look into this for future updates.
I will also see about turning the palms and soles into a .png and will check out the dirty body to see what’s going on there….
I'm not an expert in deciphering Paint Net crash logs, but it seems to say something about the image being incorrectly saved in the .dds format. Error related to merging layers when transforming from one format to another.
The problem is with one file, the rest opened fine. Although, at the moment I have not tried to open this file using other image editors, so I cannot say whether it will open correctly somewhere else. =)
a little advice:

When working with body textures, it is better to use this formatting table for better display of textures in the game.
Diffuse map (_d) = BC3 Normal map (_n) = BC5 Specular map (_s) = BC5 (the image is half the size of a diffuse and normal map)
So, I was able to remove the entire body textures as mentioned above, this should allow other CBBE body textures to be used in conjunction with mine. I have also looked into the dirty body file, I think I fixed it (no issues on my end).
Thank you for your feedback, this really gets me motivated to get this thing to work other than for myself.
By the way, if you're really interested in creating your own overlays plugin, you might want to consider the device mechanics of dw's Palm and Sole RaceMenu Overlays plugin. Although the fact that this plugin was created for a different game may scare you, the structure itself is very similar. Not to mention the similarity of cbbe body textures... which might also be useful.
Yay! Now to try and figure out compatibility with the skin I use.
As for the why, if I had to take a guess it'd be too much work engine side to implement normally for something most people that aren't black wouldn't notice. Because the designator for skin tone in game is simple, and can't account correctly for parts staying lighter as the rest gets darker. Or maybe they're just lazy, though I think they actually did implement in Starfield, which uses different textures for different colors rather than different colors modifying the same texture.
I was tempted to play Fallout today, but it really bugged me that my mod isn't compatible with the one you are using or others. So, I did a bit more digging on how to get this to work and I think I might have gotten the idea! I've upgraded my tools to Gimp Software, this should allow compatibility with some degree of jank.... so errr ah please bear with me... I'll have another update tonight!
I really like that there are still people who want to try to bring something of their own to the game, but unfortunately it’s not always as easy as it seems at first glance.
The game uses one texture and changes its palette so that in the game itself we get several completely different color options from one file. With all this, not a single skin tone that we see in the game does not correspond 100% to the shade that is used on the texture itself. It turns out that in order for us to get the ideal shade in the game itself, we need to calculate the digital difference of the palette that the game produces from the original texture.
Although, again, even if you manage to convey the intended shade without any deviations... it still won’t suit everyone. After all, it’s simply impossible to please everyone. =)
