Well for a more lore friendly version this is one hell of a advanced stock technology: a fully wooden stock being foldable where even the hinges are made of wood. xD
The tiny thing aside, in general the SCAR will most likely never be absolutley lore friendly with all the modular rails and sight attachements at all. One thing I'd admit though, it would be more logically realistic if the guns are worn out instead of a fresh factory brand new build one (Although the wodden stock looks pretty unarmed and new compared).
I would have to disagree. It year of production is lore friendly enough for me. Since most of scar mods are op and absolutely CLEAN (the worst part) this one is a good option. I really do like the metallic look of this machine maybe if it were a bit darker(the upper receiver might stay this way but i would suggest making it more tan it is tan version after all the lower receiver might be even darker with sights completely dark or darker like dark grey and it should look like aged metal or plastic your choice here but plastic is fine for me). Awesome job to bring my request to the game author.
Well I learned fast how to mess with mods in Fallout Edit myself to delete some fantasy magic upgrades and adjust the dmg and else for that reason.
But that aside the SCAR was developed in 2003 and even first build 2008, so it's totally not lore friendly for the year of production.
To admit, even if originally Fallout Universe shall represent a dieselpunk imagined parallel future of the state of ~1950-60ish, some more modern vanilla weapons were included in former Fallout games (Like the FN P90 for example, which was supposedly be an HK in Tactics xD), but again in Fo4 are partly such stone age weapons existing it's a bit difficult how "lore frindly" is described here.
But just from the looks of the Scar itself it really will never be completely lore friendly at all because not a single weapon was a modular weapon like this with so many raills and stuff- even without to attach XYZ things it totally displaying a new era of guns.
The P90 was not in Tactics. It was in Fallout 2, along such futuristic designs like the HK G11 and the CAWS. And there it was also supposedly an H&K gun.

For the wooden pistol handles, I like how they look, But I could change them sometime.
