Fort Oberland is the 2nd fort built for this purpose, it is a prime location that allows fast deployment of troops to protect this crucial crossing.

A new City Plan for Outpost at Oberland Station.
"You are to take a unit of the men from the Castle and make your way over to Oberland.
You are to make use of the local resources and build a fort.
I will be sending out a broadcast requesting all able-bodied minutemen in the area to head your way for muster.
The fort must house a standing force of more than 20 soldiers with full support, do not take for granted this food to footwear it is all important. I also want the fort to act as a checkpoint for the area to ensure it is well entrenched and get that watch tower up fast. "
