This new version is forcing its way to the top of my load order. It says it is an esp marked as an esl or esm. Is this intentional? I would really like to move it down.
These look great. A few nitpicks and gripes though. - Alot have a bit of the same 'rusty' look, but the way you did the rust at least shows unique colors. - There are no provided LOD versions of the textures, which causes some funky pop ins. - There are some missing textures for certain vehicle parts and objects, and some that are just off. Here's some images to make sense of my critiques:
[another note that the wood for the trailer is a bit too 'new' looking]
There just so much wiggle room with the texture variance and that "patch work" is because the way they are placed in the game files.. As in no logic or rhyme when I started to browse and search for the textures. I know I could have done a few little tricks with the vehicles but that came to my mind after I did most of them so I wasn't going back... For example, those crates/containers use just 1 texture which uses a gradient for coloring, and there is some weird bethesda black magic happening with those which is why I haven't published anything for them myself, and so does the cars actually. For which I had to make each color a separate texture. And most of the wooden houses... As for the wooden trailer flat bed whatever, I just haven't found it yet from the files because I always forget to look for it as it's not in anywhere near the vehicle textures :D
For the lods, I just haven't had any priority for those yet.
So, everything is just as messy as the base game wills it to be :D
Jesus man, you're seriously the first modder to come close to FlaconOil which I consider the gold standard of texture mods. You're not just AI upscaling everything, sharpening it to hell, and calling it good. You're actually putting the effort in to make it look good with the game and not just with a RTX 4090 Ultra Realistic Ray Tracing video on YouTube.
Have to disagree about FlaconOil, he does alot of stuff well, but there's also fumbles like his tires that are terrible, car rust looks unrealistic and he basically copy pasta'd alot of the same rusty look, so it kind of gets bland. Which is weird because he did some building rust really well, but then other objects no so much. Also alot of his textures intruded into Workshop objects like lamp posts and many metalwork. Some of his concrete retextures look a bit worse than vanilla and less 'aged'. Metal stairs, fabric work, peeling paint and rust off buildings, various tile work are pretty great though, and much of the upscaled look vs retextures is what he seemed to be better at. Almost all his Red Rocket retextures are probably among the best though, and seems to be largely where he was focused on quality. However, his Red Rocket and NMC's Red Rocket overlap alot and it depends which is better.
HappoMatka's work is just as great, along with NMC, Luxor (except buildings and rust which he is also terrible at), and even many years old stuff like Langley and Valius still stand today. SavrenX also has a ton of great retextures and upscales as well.
What's funny is that I don't consider myself anywhere near these og's of the texture game :D We all have had our own vision to do what we have liked to see in the game :) There plenty of things I envy from each and everyone of these texture artists :) Thank you for the support!
Meanwhile, if I'll download all your texture mods (those not having an .esp, I mean, but .BA2s only), unpack all the archives into one folder only, then repack that folder into one big .BA2 archive and manually loading it within the game (I use Vortex), would it work or it needs an .esp to load all the different textures?
You can merge them all in one, but how the game works and what is easiest is that you use a plugin to load them. Every plugin I have are empty, and flagged as an esl, so you can use any one of them, just make sure the names are correct, and that the archives are made with the right settings :)
HappoMatka, you mean, if one wants an AIO of all your mods, there should 2 .BA2s archives: one for Textures (compressed with "DDS" compression) and one for Materials/Meshes (compressed with "General" compression) and both having its own dummy plugin?
OR does Archive2 allows using various compression settings (depending on file types) inside a single .BA2 archive?
Sorry for the newbie one, I've only unpacked so far, but never re-packed. Thanks!
Texture archives are only for textures, with the dds compression. Main takes, in my mods cases, Materials and meshes. And one plugin loads both archives. So 3 files all in all. I have a few mods that has them. Ie.: Compilation.esp Compilation - Main.ba2 Compilation - Textures.ba2.

2k archive and the 4k one updated. I will leave the plugin update for the ones who downloaded the older one with the wrong plugin.

All this said, great work as always, HappoMatka.

Just noticed it does it to the crashed ufo too.
