I didn't download the mod because I have too many already crashing my s#*! all the time but I absolutely love the description. Sincerely, thank you for the good laugh Will likely add this on my next play-through.
I liked the mod. Only issue I noticed was it seems to have Nav mesh issues. my death squad didn't want to follow me around and most enemy Ai were stuck in place. Other than having to solo the place I liked the map.
PS: Since my rig ran without any issues at all that must mean its good since others crashed? i9 10900kf slightly overclocked, 64GB DDR4 RAM, SSD ( older one), RTX 4070, Win 11 Maybe my large RAM was helpful even though its only DDR4 not DDR5.
Dude. That was an epic fight, reminiscent of AWOP. Had a bit of trouble with the path to the base not loading, I had to do some mountain climbing/jetpacking to get there, but that sorted itself out after I cleared the base. I am having some trouble assigning settlers to the exterior though. Anything I can do fix that? Already had this puppy at the bottom of my load order, so that wont do it.
I tested the exterior extensively, and I haven't had any problems after I cleared the global encounter zone during the beta stages of the mod. Honestly unsure what exactly to do. All I can ask is that you send me a screenshot of your issue while in workshop mode and I'll see if I can pick out something that could be a potential issue with my mod
This mod has suceeded to not only test the limits of my ass, but also of my computer. Windows has crashed, everything crashed, once I attempted to enter the base area. Well, after a bit of testing it wasn't actually this mod, just my game being borked as usual. Performance is still a concern though but not that much actually.
However, performance issues aside, I do wanna see more mods like this! There is something about the simple premise of going to a new worldspace, sorting out enemies, and then doing whatever with that settlement space.
I can see this concept being applied to making a sort of "campaign" series of mods, where conquering an area allows moving onto the next, harder area. And yes, the vanilla combat AI somewhat limits this - I don't think it will ever be a thing to have AI behave like it would in other FPS games that go heavy on the gunfights (cough Call of Duty cough). Bethesda AI kinda just makes a half-hearted attempt at "combat" imo...
That aside, maybe larger worldspaces like these in the future could benefit from a map screen in the pipboy, or a simple quest marker to at least point in the direction of the main attraction(s), because I was confused as hell about where to go upon arriving. Followed the military vehicles, but still.
TL:DR - While I didn't actually get inside the base...yet, I already like what I see. The concept is good, just needs a little polish here and there.
The idea actually is to make a full DLC sized mod. I'm still learning as I go along unfortunately and can't immediately jump into the big stuff but a lot of these smaller settlement mods and such will be preludes to my big project. I'm planning to tie everything in together as well if I can. Until I eventually can try to make whole new models and rigs with new animation sets and new weapons and armour and everything. I know It's just Fallout though and at that point I might as well make my own game lol. But looking at FO4NV, I'm extremely inspired by those types of mods and I want to do that type of stuff.
For now however just producing hard combat scenarios with some story elements is all I can do. My mods do need some polish and I've trying to fix them up and such as I go along with new mods as well, as I did with the Oil Rig. I admit maybe the Canyon is KINDA intensive which I didn't notice before lol. Thank you though! I'll keep making more mods and working up towards my big project. If you wanna keep up, you can join the discord in the description tab :).
Great mod as usual ... unfortunately when I save and exit it just CTD's when I try to go back in ... I am only running two other mods one is MK18 weapons mod and Outcasts and Remnants any help will be useful thanks
