Version 1.1
Bugfix to piper's proficiency distribution
Have you ever found a unique weapon that you can't use, and wanted to give it to a companion instead, without having to worry about managing their ammo? If so, then I have a mod for you.
Companion Weapon Profiency is a relatively simple mod. It uses SPID to distribute proficiency spells to companions, which give that companion an infinite ammo keyword while they're equipped with a weapon of the type they're proficient with. For example, hand Piper any ballistic, pistol and at least 1 ammo of the required type, and she can use the weapon, (without consuming ammo).
Weapons break down into 5 classes
Ballistic Pistols
Piper
Nick Valentine
Ballistic non-automatic Rifles (non shotgun)
Deacon
Macready
Old Longfellow
Ballistic Automatics (pistol or rifle)
Porter Gage
Ballistic Shotguns
Cait
Hancock
Lasers/Plasma
Danse
Preston
R4-04
The default SPID file also includes compatibility for Tales from the Commonwealth, and The Fens Sheriffs Dept. Companions from other mods will need to be added to the SPID distribution file (it's really simple, just copy/paste and replace the name).
Fully compatible with mods that change companion records- because this uses SPID, it doesn't touch the base records at all.
Want something a little more restrictive? Check out Companion Weapon Mod Swaps, instead of giving them infinite ammo it upgrades their hidden companion weapon.
