Neat idea. But if you want to homage the book & film Soylent Green, change purified water to dirty. The only water Soylent's poor had was irradiated and from communal taps. Anyway, no way would merchants of that product waste clean water on such an awful product! Cheers.

It would have been more in line with it, yeah. However I had to put purified water to keep it balanced, dirty water cannot be produced reliably.

Ah, I see - yes, I didn't think about that. But anyway yes, postapocalyptia is ripe for soylent green, so well done! Frankly I'm surprised it's not been a lot more done before (the only one I can find is this old, possibly buggy and nowadays problematic 2016 mod).

Yes that is the one I found when looking for one, didn't manage to get it working, saw it was a common issue (probably due to it being old) and decided to make my own. I did change the products to 3 flavours instead of 1 soylent green and 2 dog food because I felt it to be more in line with the original.

Wasteland Resources makes dirty water a good deal easier to get hold of just passively. They've also got several other passive resource gain stuff - like, for instance, the frustrating to find sometimes oil. Their hydroponics system also helps a TON when you need a settlement without settlers - it makes the "hydroponics watched" planters slash hydroponics bays regrow every 24 hours, no settlers required. There's also patches to add mod-added flora into the list of plants that'll regrow properly.

Might try to add a compatibility patch for that, which would change the ingredient if you have it, kinda reluctant to make such a big mod a requirement.

Fair enough! I just noticed the issue and thought that the mod I play with might be an option to fix said issue.

I would have loved to swap out the old Soylent Green mod for this one, considering how it streamlines the Soylent Green thing.... But your simplified manufacturing mod that is a requirement for this one breaks a lot of my other manufacturing mods. So, sadly, I'm gonna stick with the old one, since it slots into my heavily modded setup with no real issues and I can get it working just fine.

      No problem :D
Which modes does simplified manufacturing break? I might look into a compatibility patch.

Technically, it doesn't quite BREAK things in my present LO.... Simplified manufacturing just doesn't work for the Munitions manufacturing, or the Energy Weapon Ammunition plant. Trying to remember which factories work with Simplified was driving me a little up the wall. The specific mods I've noticed don't work are Manufacturing Extended Expanded, and Munitions Manufacturing.

I'm adding compatibility patches for those anyways.

Also you can freely use a combination of the two - Simplified Manufacturing won't break the other machines, it simply means it will only work when using the Soylent Green one. Everything else can stay as it is :D

Too funny.  I was wondering how long till this mod showed up.  It seems a long time!  Well done!

TBH there's another one from 2016 which has a lot more stuff in it but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

I am old enough to remember when that movie came out in 1973. To see it in the game is a great idea.
