Tbh I just hadn't modded for Fallout 4 in years and never got around to fixing it, but your comment reminded me I should and it was a simple fix to do. So version with the proper structure is now up.
Just a note for ModOrganizer2 users, check your installation. After right-clicking and selecting "open in explorer" you'll see a Data folder next to the esp. The Data must be replaced with the Meshes folder (Open the Data folder, copy the Meshes folder next to the esp and delete "Data").
There is an extra DATA layer in there. I confirmed it in the CK. The author built the archive with a second DATA folder with the default DATA folder, at the same level as the ESP file. So, if you do a straight install, FO4 could not find the meshes.
The proper way is to have one DATA folder, the default, and MESHES at the same level as the ESP file within it. There are several ways to handle it. But since I am forgetful, I rebuilt the archive with one DATA folder and within that folder went MESHES (and the sub-folders) and the ESP. I repackaged with WinRAR, but I see no reason Zip or 7zip can't be used. Once I did a straight "reinstall" (I use MO2), the hairs were found by the CK and FO4. I repackaged so if I reinstall months or years from now, I won't have to worry about it. Though I only did a random sample, the hairs I saw looked good once the folder structure was aligned. Cheers!
I'm still trying to find a back of head bun spiky / disarrayed hairstyle like Jennifer Garner wore in Alias when she impersonated a German cyber-technician.
I know the mod is probably abandoned, but I would like to request buns on the pigtails vanilla hairstyle, and maybe with lengthened pigtails like Ponytail Variations has as well as some bangs with a part in the middle of them. I'm thinking of making a Sailor Moon character.
Also, I love that there's an almost Serana-esque style and would love it even more if it were parted down the middle with no bangs like Serana's hair. Serana's from Skyrim if you didn't know.

It should be Data\meshes\etc, not Data\data\meshes\etc.
