Five years ago, FatallyShot released a mod that turns Concord's Speakeasy into a playable home. I always thought it would make a great starter home, so I expanded on it a little bit to suit me and thought I would share. Here are the changes I made:
- Turned the Workshop from a Home Plate one into a regular one, allowing you to build anything you want.
- Got rid of the holes in the walls. I like the messy post-war look of the home, but don't like seeing big gaping holes between rooms. There are still a few holes in the floors and ceiling, but rooms are all sealed off from one another.
- Removed all light sources. The Speakeasy has baked in light, which looks great in vanilla, but remain even when you place your own light sources. I removed all lights so the place is completely dark when you enter. This is so you can add your own lights to give it your own look. There are lights in the screenshots that I built so you can see the home.
- Removed all windows and cleared the walls of all decorations. They are unscrappable, so I cleared them allowing you to completely customize them yourself. I also removed all unscrappable objects in the building so you can make it as you wish. At first I was going to replace them with closed windows to match the outside, but when I realized the windows outside didn't match them on the inside anyway, I thought I'd just remove them altogether for further customisability.
- Two rooms were previously accessible: The room at the rear of the back room on the ground floor, and the furthest room on the first floor. These were cleared and turned into empty closets.
- Added a chem, weapon and armor workbenches.
I highly recommend using this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28702 to have wireless lighting throughout and unlimited power.
Thank you FatallyShot for creating the original mod, and please let me know if there are any issues so I can fix them. I've found no issues in my testing.
