I have another way great workaround for this problem that is compatible with all updates and non f4se dependent. Learn how to hit what your aiming at and don't fire your weapon into crowds. ***Bonus - Works in RL too!
Great idea.till you use vats on the last raider, then after you start firing,an idiot settler walks in front of your shot. Now you have the entire seetlement pissed at you because one of them was an idiot.
suggestion: I was recently in Diamond city market and mistakengly click "get out of my way" (push) on an NPC. And got mauled by security. can a feature be added so the first push is not considered hostile?
But they did. A system for suppressing the "I immediately hate you for hitting me with a stray bullet in a combat situation" reaction that neutral NPCs have. For suppressing their ability to take offence and become immediately hostile to getting shot in the middle of combat.
needed this for the fens sheriff mod. Anytime one of my followers hits one of them trying to kill a ghoul or raider I have to load a previous save or be at war with them permenantly
To those wondering if "bDisableCreatureOffenceSuppression" affects ferals/mirelurks/etc lying in ambush, I'm happy to say that I tested the mod on some "neutral" ferals and they still went hostile after shooting (after I enabled the "neutral NPCs always ignore aggression" option as a test, of course). So that means probably only domestic creatures are affected (since I shot Maisie as a test without receiving retaliation), and not ambushing enemy creatures.
So you're free to try to tip brahmins by charging into them with power armour, all you want! (until they die, of course. then the farmers will probably be pissed)
