Might wanna rename, the title made me think you added a suppression system to the game.

But they did. A system for suppressing the "I immediately hate you for hitting me with a stray bullet in a combat situation" reaction that neutral NPCs have. For suppressing their ability to take offence and become immediately hostile to getting shot in the middle of combat.

It's a play on words for another popular mod that goes by SOS. You wouldn't find it on the nexus, however.

needed this for the fens sheriff mod. Anytime one of my followers hits one of them trying to kill a ghoul or raider I have to load a previous save or be at war with them permenantly

    Great mod! Big thanks!

To those wondering if "bDisableCreatureOffenceSuppression" affects ferals/mirelurks/etc lying in ambush, I'm happy to say that I tested the mod on some "neutral" ferals and they still went hostile after shooting (after I enabled the "neutral NPCs always ignore aggression" option as a test, of course). So that means probably only domestic creatures are affected (since I shot Maisie as a test without receiving retaliation), and not ambushing enemy creatures.

So you're free to try to tip brahmins by charging into them with power armour, all you want! (until they die, of course. then the farmers will probably be pissed)

If I had a dollar for every time I had to reload a save for this bull$hit lol... Thank you! Over 9000 out of 10.

hey Dude, the file <<po3_SimpleOffenceSuppression.ini>> is read-only and cannot be edited for the life of me. What should I do? Win11 gives me no way to unprotect and re-enable write protection after adjusting line iFriendHitCombatAllowed.

Do you have your game installed on your C dive or where ever win 11 is installed under the programs folders. if so that could be reason you having this issue. you should never install any game under the programs folders. it can cause editing problems script errors and much more. you should install all games on steam or gog or epic in a folder outside of the programs folders. If that not case you might not have ownership rights. you can get programs that will give that access. or you might not have administration privileges.

Hi, does it works between companions too?
I'm kinda sick of macready unloading his minigun in to dogmeat cause of some stray hits turning it hostile.

And then he yells: dogmeat is down! -.-

I didn't want to comment in the bugs section but I tried your mod in DC and the guards and people all started shooting back at me for shooting someone. Is this meant only for the Commonwealth or certain parts?

The number of hits are dependent on iFriendHitCombatAllowed and related gamesettings, which can be optionally modified in the ini.

Would it be possible to add this kind of functionality to theft as well?  Where an entire town full of NPCs immediately try to kill you for fishing their "Empty Nuka Cola Bottle" from the trash.

They aren't supposed to aggro immediately, they are meant to approach you and take any stolen items, unless they can't pathfind or you are fleeing.

But they don't do any of that crap. They just go 0-100 in hyperspeed.

      It Just Works.
