i see other people asking for a standalone follower and while that i like that idea too, if you take suggestions, i think the best use would be to make them into a placeable workshop defense npc. have them show up in the defense menu, and act as guard dogs that add defense rating. sorta like how other mods do minutemen or automatons, but this will be blade dogs.
Good afternoon, a question, would it be possible to use it as a piece of armor? I have the mounted weapons mod and I would like to switch between one and the other.
i havent try yet because it never crossed my mind before, but i dont know it its possible either because dogmeat is a different race. but its interesting if it possible, like make the closed mask as standar outfit and open mask as combat outfit with AFT... it will like he open he mask in battle.. i will check it later :)
I think that in theory it could be, it occurred to me because of two mods, this one (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/70752) because it not only allowed mounted weapons, but also there were two pieces of armor that transformed during the battle. (one gave him power armor as if he were a person and the other made him ride a UFO while summoning Martians) and https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/50716 because he has full body armor that gave him the appearance of a DoggoLing.

that would be incredible, if I remember correctly I think the trick the mod used was a modification of the turrets AI to activate dogmeat's mounted weapons when receiving an attack and I think it applied a passive affect on the armor, similar to the power shields (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/50816) that are activated when consuming the medicine and remain active until manually deactivated. must be a very complex trick lmao. i can imagine all the crash when the creator testing the mod that would be a great sight to be hold, remind me to the scene where tony and rhodes mark2 fight the drone together
I think the most complicated thing would be its activation, it could work the same when receiving damage or an MCM could be used to program a hot key. If I remember that scene, imagine recreating it, it would work perfectly with Synth who usually ambush you.
