About this mod
An update of Commonwealth Surplus (Clothing Mod) with permission. Balance changes, scripted injection, item name changes.
- Permissions and credits
Commonwealth Surplus Redux simply changes the balance of the items, alters the names for uniformity and adds the items to vendors via a scripted injection rather than direct levellist edits. You can find them at clothing/armor vendors. Appropriate items are also added to a few cells (without breaking precombines/previs) in chests and in the open on shelves and such. NPC level lists were not altered.
I wanted a alternative to the Vault Suit as under-armor. Since Nate has a military background it makes sense he would shed the suit given to him by the company that stole 200 years of his life and find some good fatigues to wear while he faces the post apocalypse Commonwealth.
I used DankRafft Injector Scripts - Leveled Item - Legendaries - INNR - Form List to safely add items to the vanilla levelists. Show Dank some appreciation as well.
There are two "cheat" chests (all the gear) located in Arturo's residential cell and in the storage loft area of Fallon's Basement. I tested the placement with both vanilla Fallon's Basement and with Welcome to Fallon's Revisited installed. You will need to be ok with being a sneak-thief if you want them. The chests are marked as owned and taking items from them will be stealing. The other locations will be listed below.
There are chests located in USAF Satellite Station Olivia as well as chests and items located in one of the rooms in the National Guard training yard. It's the room with lockers and the mess hall. I took care to add a new layer, lock the existing layers and place the new items on my layer. This prevents the breaking of cell precombines/previs.
Surplus Fatigues
- 46 under armor garments in various colors and patterns
- Buffs Strength and Agility 1pt (same as vanilla military fatigues)
- Has small amount of ballistic, energy and radiation protection

- 10 riot armor vests in various colors

- Accepts armor mods (Combat Armor)

Surplus Riot Helmet
- 6 riot helmets
- Has small amount of ballistic and energy protection
- Accepts ballistic weave
Finding the Gear
All items added to Clothing and Armor vendors list using Level List Injection. Wait for 24 hours and check shops that use the vanilla level lists. I found them at most vanilla vendors including settlement vendors.
Go to Military cells like USAF Satellite Station Olivia or National Guard training yard. There are chests in both locations and some items added to shelves in others. The Sanctuary basement has my favorite set on the shelf. There are a few other cells to find on your own.
Steal them from chests in Fallon's Basement (loft area) or Arturo Rodriguez's home behind his counter in Diamond City.
Open the console and type 'help "surplus" 4 armo' to get the FormIDs. You can also type 'help "surplus" 4 cont' to get the FormID of the chest that has the items in it and use player.placeatme to spawn the chest at your feet. See Google for more info. I'm not your mom.
Precombines/previs where not broken in any world/cell edits.
I did not create recipes for them. Life is too short. Ask someone else. If you want a bunch to outfit your whole settlement, spawn them in with the console. Your immersion is your own.
I did not add them to NPC levellists because they look too good. It makes more sense that they were stored in containers and found recently. Having them for sale as surplus/never issued makes sense.
Compatibility
The items are new records so they won't conflict with other items. The locations may conflict with regard to clipping with other mod-added/mod-moved objects. I will not patch cell edits. If you can't live with a chest clipping into some other mod's edit of the basement or whatnot, edit the esp in xedit and remove the cell.
If you are already using the using the original mod in your current game. Don't use this one. This mod has been converted to an esl. You will end up with duplicate gear and the original mod used levellist edits. This one uses injections. Just wait until you start a new game. If you aren't using the original, install this one anytime.
Install
Use Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex.
