@adto59 Thanks for the link, but you're missing the whole point.
I know of that mod. I can extract, I can make esl. With enough time, I could possibly recreate the from scratch.
That's not why I'm posting this. I'm doing this to give a suggestion on how to take this to the next level. To remove the need for the users to take those extra steps, which would result in more downloads.
.ba2 files stream faster and are how the game's developers originally intended all assets to be loaded. That's why the game has no "loose files" in its data folder by default.
If you're too lazy to move whatever loose files are overwriting this or just unpack it in two seconds, that's on you, not the mod author. They packed their files the way they're supposed to.
Game's developer also intended for the game to crash after having 256 mods with ba2 files? That's a crazy low limit with the potential of 4k esl plugins.
While I might have come of a bit harsh initially I do believe there is advantages in supplying loose files in the purpose of attracting the most amount of potential users.
no, packed files make sense only with big files, as long as you dont face the .ba2 limit its not a problem but many ppl included me already faced it a lot of mods ago, a loose version is better for this mod as it is very small, but i'm used to unpacking .ba2 files anyway.
Jesus.. unpack the file yourself. its easy.. and about limits. create your own custom texture mod. Put all your small custom textures or re-meshes in there with one dummy esp marked as esl. keep it ba2 packed and just unpack/repack to add to it.
It’s not laziness, it’s that exo is a collections curator and unnecessary ba2s preclude mods from being included in collections. Having a loose files version allows the mod to be safely included in large collections.
It's baffling how so many drama queens flocked like moths to a flame to such an inconspicuous comment – even long after the author saw fit to add the loose version. Internuts at their finest! Thanks for the loose files :)
This is used alongside ELFX in the StoryWealth collection which is the most popular collection on the website, constantly updated. Fair to say then that they probably do work together.
I'm glad I found this mod. It's always bugged me how those lights seldom seem to work.
However, this mod is, unfortunately, not compatible with a lot of mods that add custom lights. It causes them to be dim just like the vanilla lights are without this mod. Examples include Homemaker by NovaCoru and Exotic Lights by GroveMods.
I know I have praise the mod when it was first released but... is it normal it does absolutely nothing? The only mod other mod I have that modifies lights is Brighter Settlement Lights, and even after disabeling it, nothing changes. And yes, I have tried putting it at the end of my load order and it did nothing.
Edit: after further testing, the loose version works perfectly fine but not the ba2 version.

I prefer BA2 files that easier to uninstall than loose ones.
But really, jokes aside. A lot of times, the downsides of ba2 (limits on how many you can use) is not worth the upside.
So sad Lazythesda never been able to fix their game...
Thank you for your work and sharing.
Endorsed, and kudos to you....

Its a darker night lightning mod.
