Rosie is mentioned in 3 maleeventoned voicelines (0002f80c, 0002f80f, 0002f810) as missing and the NPC is desperately trying to find her so it appears she was cut from a quest. The NPC is most likely Smiling Larry due to the sequential numbers of the voice lines. These voice lines don’t show up in FO4Edit but do in Lazy Voice Finder.
If that's the case, it makes me wonder if, originally, Smiling Larry was supposed to be more like Anne Hargraves or Sheffield, where you have to complete a quest before you can recruit them. I don't have the skills to restore the quest, but it is interesting, nonetheless.
Maybe where Rosie was originally supposed to be was in the broken house near Hub City where that one Brahmin is? or maybe she was supposed to be the Brahmin next to the dead trader in Boston?
Maybe, although as far as I know, all named brahmin have owners, so it is doubtful that she's supposed to be just "out in the wild." Speaking of that brahmin near Hub City, though, it is on my list of potential recruitment candidates. Any brahmin drinking from a trough on the second floor of a ruined house belongs in a settlement because there's no logical way it could have reached that trough. Clearly, this means it has superpowers.
I feel like Sommerville Place would have been a better spot for the Brahmin, though, as Sommerville already has a trough built, but no Brahmin to utilize it.
I think it is, yeah. I haven't done a whole lot in Sommerville yet, but I did hovered over the trough with my cursor while in build mode at one point and it said "Brahmin Feed Trough" on the name display.
Interesting. Makes me wonder if that was Rosie's original home but the devs removed her for some reason. I wonder how many other settlements with preexisting settlers have troughs. Tenpines has one, but I think that one is just a tub. If you run into any other working troughs, let me know. If there are enough of them, it might be worth making a mod that places brahmin at those settlements.
Now that I think about it, I think Abernathy Farm and Sommerville Place are the only settlements in the game with preexisting Brahmin Feed troughs. Any other settlements with bathtubs in them are just regular bathtubs. Still, I'll keep my eye out, just in case.
Per your request, I added a patch that moves Rosie to Somerville Place. The trough itself had to be moved, too, as Rosie couldn't access it where it was originally located. Also, the trough wasn't linked to the workshop, but now it is.
I'd planned to make the patch sooner, but the delay ended up being a blessing in disguise. Tenhats reminded me about the workshop link (I would've forgotten otherwise) and then finalized the trough's location, as it wasn't being entirely cooperative when I moved it.
Fun and Fascinating reading that cut content page .. BROTHER!! do us all a favor we need this Giant SQUID to help defend the castle and all Minutemen settlements beside water Squid 0012EF26 (VltSquidWindow01) Actors\Squid\Squid_d.DDS
well i will turn on radeon Relive and try to spawn this giant squid i cannot believe nobody has reported on results of this ;)
Sadly, the squid is way beyond my ability. The NPCs I've been restoring are complete files that need only world space coordinates to make them appear in game. The squid is just a skin (more or less) and needs everything else.
I was just thinking about that a couple of days ago. The more of these NPCs I find and implement, the more likely it is that I'll put together an AiO at some point. As with my "We Have Names" series, I expect to wait until I'm done with standalone versions, so I don't have to update the AiO every time I implement another NPC.
Unnamed ones lack "Placed NPC" coordinates, which can be determined in fo4edit, although for the most part, I don't realize it until tenhats (who troubleshoots most of my mods) points out when NPCs in my mods weren't implemented by Bethesda, so I have to give them world space coordinates to make them appear in game.
The squid has actual files hidden in game, while the centaur never made beyond concept art, as far as I know. That's why it isn't listed in that cut content section. As for the NPCs, I don't know how many of them I'll actually restore, as many of them are incomplete, but I can always use their face/body morphs to create other unique NPCs down the road.
