How to make your favorite videos into backgrounds compatible with this mod!
1) Download and install the RADVideo tools program, (some tools used by Bethesda, safe and free!)
2) Open the "radvideo64.exe" or "radvideo34.exe" program and select your mp4 or other video file.
3) Have it make a .bik with NO AUDIO, not a bk2 file (this will take a bit of time to do), then change the file extension to bk2! You MUST do this as stupid as this sounds it will not work if you just tell it to make a bk2! Thanks Tod!
4) Now use the built in file converter and have it make a .wav file out of the original mp4 (or a different one if you want a different audio). Then change the file extension to a .xwm file extension.
5) Forget to do the rest of the stuff you need to do for the actual mod this post is on.
:( I'm sad. None of the versions work on my old-gen setup (.163). All dependancies are met (most other F4SE plugins require them too and they work). Must be either a configuration issue or conflict with something else.
It just show the default video. No errors in the logs, it seems unable to find any of the other MainMenuLoop videos (16 from Immersive Main Menu) that I have installed. An earlier post below mentions filename parsing issue with multiple underscore '_'. I have several of those (from Father Companion Mod and Subversion) but they are not MainMenuLoop videos. Didn't work even after disabling them. I also tried swapping the Video folder with a 'Lite' variant only containing 3 proper MainMenuLoop videos. No joy, it seems the file iterator is broken by something.
Also, some of the videos from IMM didn't have proper capitalization for the keyword. The parser should probably be agnostic about that if it isn't already.
Found out what the issue was. Turns out it was the file system (exFAT) on the hd that the game was installed on. If it's not NTFS, then this mod doesn't work.Who in their right mind ships a hd formatted with a fs intended only for thumb drives? It's insane.
I put three menus in the proper folders, but when I loaded the game I was met with default music and a black "Menu Screen." Is there anything more specific than "The video files go in the Video folder, and be careful with the names" and "The audio files go in the Special/Music folder, and be careful with the names"?
So, I spent a few hours today making the videos and audio names for the mod. I'm using MM2. I installed the mod, run the game, but the main menu isn't changing. Is there a naming convention other than what I did here? I named the videos and the music things like Comm1, TFMM, TimeLapse, etc. No spaces, no special characters. Does MainMenuLoop have to be in the name?
My game and MM2 are on an external SSD.
The Music>Special folder didn't exist, so I just created those. So, I don't know if that's enough info for ya. I had it loading with the other Master Files as well, although I'm going to try it now at the bottom of my load order. If it works, I'll take this post down. Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help!
Yep. Video must contain "MainMenuLoop_" and have only one "_". You cannot use "MainMenuLoop_you_Name1.bk2".
Correct video example: MainMenuLoop_youName1.bk2 MainMenuLoop_youName2.bk2 etc...
Music should be placed in "Data\music\special" and start with "mus_maintheme_". To play certain music with certain videos, the names after "_" must match.
Correct music example: mus_maintheme_youName1.xwm mus_maintheme_youName2.xwm etc...
If all music in u main menu is turned off, check the game's .ini files. Fallout4.ini and/or Fallout4Custom.ini (if exists) [General] bPlayMainmenuMusic=1
somehow breaks the creation club, tested with requirements and achievements enabler and it's dependencies with f4se. may also break menus where you have to select an option like trade finalization.
