ATTENTION: To anyone that is having issues with the ULG tool not being able to find your .ini files
The ULG tool is only going to check the default location for the .ini files. In my personal experience, with several different computers and versions of Windows, it has always been at the same location every time. It seems that some people may possibly have it at a different location. I don't know why.
The default path is: C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\
If they are not at that path, they are somewhere else that is unknown to me and to the ULG tool, and you will need to find them yourself and enter their path manually into ULG. If you can't find them anywhere, sorry, I probably cannot help you and ULG tool is not going to be able to find them either. You must be able to locate your own .ini files to use this tool, or to receive any assistance with issues.
If you do know where your .ini files are, and you have the path entered correctly into ULG, but ULG is still not detecting it, please follow these steps:
When you downloaded ULG, it should've been unzipped into a folder containing the jar file and readme file. Once you run ULG at least one time, it will also create a 'logs' folder within that folder. Zip the logs folder and send it to me, preferably using DMs in the Nexus forum site.
Take a screenshot showing the location of your .ini file. A screenshot of your File Explorer window should suffice. Send this also.
If you provide those, I will attempt to help when I have time. If you comment "it doesn't detect my .ini files" without providing any other details, your comment will be ignored.
I don't know why this isn't working. It says couldn't find the file in the default path, but I see the file in the folder that is indicated. Yet it keeps telling me it can't find the correct!
Doesn't seem to work, I just made a new save and nothing changed, no fps increase or even a change in graphic quality. It says that "Fallout 4 is now using Ultra Low!" but it doesn't work. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Edit: Nevermind, found the problem. Apparently turning down the screen resolution works wonders on raising FPS. I don't remember the name of the person who said that was the problem but thank you so much.
Most likely not. It should run but I think it will have issues handling Linux file paths. There is an open bug report for this, and it might be added in a future update.
WARNING. this "mod" breaks the game. version 2.2.0 my game was fine running 50ish fps but i wanted to give my old pc the best chance to breathe if i could. at least 50% fps drop, stuttering, objects spawn 10m from you unexpectedly, some interior areas make you run super fast, i jumped from stairs then the screen became completely gray when i landed. broke the game. there is no uninstall option and it doesnt revert back when you do what the author says to uninstall it and it doesnt revert back no matter what you try to do. either massive troll or broken project
It is literally not possible for this tool to permanently break your game. All it does is change a dozen-or-so settings in your .ini files, which can most certainly be reverted. There is nothing changed in your save file, no scripts, no .esp file.
Delete your .ini files then run the game launcher and chose a default graphics preset.

For context: Vortex is incorrectly redirecting to this page because both mods have the same ID, albeit in different pages.

But sometimes there is feeling that there is so low render distance but its fair for that you can play on low PC.
