About this mod
This is a replacer mod, it replaces the native Gas mask with Goggles Model. Please be advised that this is NOT a standalone.

The American M40 Field Protective Mask was the most widely known and used gas mask from the mid-80s to early 2010s before being replaced shortly by the M50. The M40 has been in pop culture since it was first adopted, being in many 80s classics as well as modern ones such as The Mist, War of the Worlds (Remake) and many others including the most recent season of The Last Of Us. (Simple history)
Reasoning for mod: With there being several mods that add in everything EXCEPT an American M40 gas mask.. you kinda need an M40. Compared to the M40, the standard Gas Mask with Goggles would be nothing but rubber at this point, maybe less. To be fair however, Fallout 4 takes place 210 years after a nuclear holocaust, ontop of that the M40 was made back in the 80s. That would make the mask 300 years old almost. My headcanon would be its old enough to start looking like a frankenstein hack-job but still old enough to be lore-friendly. Personally, I love the model. It fits the Fallout vibe very well and looks nearly identical to the real M40.
Note: Nothing about it is meant to be perfect in the senses:
A. An exact copy (look-wise)
B. Perfectly preserved (lore-wise)
After 300 years, the M40 would realistically have major wear and tear. I would like to think the imperfections with the mask add to the lore and character of the mask. I just hope those who download this mod will feel the same nostalgia I do when I have it in my load order.
