I love everything about this mod...except the change to beta and gama XD. so you may or may not know. but fallout is a game with quite allot of irradiated/rad immune enemies. this is actually so much of a problem. the gama guns were viewed as so much of a joke. some one made an overhaul JUST to give them some energy damage and explosive damage. So they don't do literally 0. in other words...you took away a yes weak but still helpful dot...to give us something the entire game resists.

I hear you. Yes, I know most things resist radiation. The gamma gun is pretty devastating against human enemies as far as I remember. I'm pretty sure Bethesda intended radiation damage to be an anti human thing. I chose to have the energy weapons do rad damage as a situational upgrade to help you mitigate human threats. I mean, if you're shooting Ferals with a Gamma gun (Or these receivers), you're not going to have a fun time. But I'll think about it some.

    - Removed a 25% damage penalty on the standard and first tier receivers of the Institute Laser. This caused a massive damage spike between these receivers and the first damage upgrade.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but does this mean that the Institute Laser's damage is now the same as the regular Laser's? Because in vanilla the Institute's Lasers do less damage than the regular Lasers. AFAIK that was intentional, and is supposed to signify the mass-produced nature of the Institute's weaponry. Their Synths are designed to be expendable, so the weapons they carry must be, too.

No, it does the same overall damage as before when upgraded. This change only affects the standard receiver and the first beta/photon receivers. The actual damage of the institute laser itself is unchanged. That 25% damage penalty felt very artificial even though it was intentional. The damage of the gun would increase by 50% with the first damage upgrade, which is far more than any other weapon. While many of the mods are nearly identical to the laser rifle, the damage increase with the institute laser is actually a bit higher. Most likely to compensate for its weaker damage. They clearly intended the weapon to be fairly weak at first and then as it upgraded it would challenge the laser rifle more and more. The issue for me is that massive jump in damage early on. It's completely unnecessary in my opinion.

      Laser Rifle: 24 damage
      Institute Laser: 21 damage - 25% = 16. Now its back to being 21.

TLDR: No, it only affects the standard receiver and the first couple of upgrades. Otherwise the damage is left unchanged from vanilla.

Just curious, is there an Institute Rifle retexture you are using in the screenshots?
