It irks me that the grenade launchers have missile launcher sounds so I tried changing them and the more I mod this game the more I realize I don't want to mod this game.
Just making a single custom weapon firing sound requires making a Keyword record, two Sound Keyword Mapping records (player and npc), and a Sound Descriptor record. Damn I don't even want to imagine what modding Starfield is like.
Once I get back home from vacation, I'll make an Explosives Complex patch for this with your permission of course @micalov. I can't wait to try out these grenade launchers.
I understand why people would want that but that would require this mod to have its own custom ammo that most likely will only be used by these weapons.
Ammunition mods like Munitions and Caliber Complex standardizes custom ammo usage so you wouldn't have a bunch of different ammo from different weapon mods that only those mods use.
The best part about Munitions (I don't use Caliber Complex) is that it doesn't inherently add all of its custom ammo into your game by itself. Ammo injection is entirely up to the Munitions compatible weapon mods or patches that you have installed and they only inject the ammo that they need. I didn't have 40mm show up in my game until after I installed this mod.
Being that this mod, and Im assuming others often use vanilla textures, would this and most others work with weapon texture mods like dPillari or Gmoi laser and Gauss textures?
These are quite lovely, and play really well. One minor complaint... the 40mm grenade is quite big! Too large, in fact. The same can be said of the 20mm grenade. Could smaller versions be made? It might look weird, but narrowing the interior walls of the barrel could maintain the silhouette, since I do quite like the big chunky look of the 40mm grenade launcher. It's a neat-looking silhouette, but it does make the 40mm grenades look like a big mortar shell.

Edit: I gave up trying to make it from scratch so copied the records and audio file from this mod and it works fine - Makeshift Shotgun and Improvised Grenade Launcher
