Unused is actually the BoS'. The Material Swap that adds the BoS decal points to the 0.33 value of Color Remapping Index, but due to BGS' overlook, they forgot to add the fColorRemappingIndex 0.33 in the actual OMOD, so the whole armor has is set as 0. This article (in japanese) https://f4mod.hatenablog.com/entry/textures/Color_Palette_1 clarifies it.

Indeed, although 0.33 is set in the material swap record, but not forced since the material file (which is set to 1.00) is set to "SET" and most certainly the entire OMOD structure and logic will not allow the use a material swap file to use its color index. Thanks for comment it finally solved an oversight on my end too.

Just a couple of minor corrections - UNUSED? is actually Basic, and Basic is actually Military. Good job otherwise, though!

I've never encountered the "UNUSED?" variation of the armor, in-world or via crafting. Where is it found?

That's the basic, unupgraded/unpainted armor. You have the Military paint job marked as Basic, and that's not right. They're similar, but not the same.

You can check out the pics on my Palette swap mod here - I've got one of UnModded, and one of Military: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3216/?

The basic non-upgraded armor has always been that military green for me. Even spawning combat armor via console has given the green color. I'd know because I have the 'UNUSED' slot currently changed to a neon pink in my game, for the explicit purpose of trying to find it.

I've also never seen a "Military" material option when customizing armor.
      The options were always:

      -Brotherhood of Steel
-Standard (which will make it the light green color, and all non-upgraded armor is set to this)
      -Reinforced
      -Shadowed
      -Fiberglass
      -Polymer

Huh, must have been remembering the Military Power Armor paint job, and assumed the gray one was unmodded. Sorry for the confusion!

Kind of like the basic, unpainted, unused power armor skin - the rusted one.

Can I use GECK by itself to change combat armor colors, or do I need something else?

You need to edit the texture. I personally use Paint.NET

I'll see what I can do. No guarantees though. Preliminary study of the PA palette shows it's very complex, confusing, and inconsistent. Each part uses different sections of it and they also vary slightly between PA models. The T-51 even has it's own standalone palette, for some strange reason. So it may take quite some time to decipher it.

If only I'd seen this BEFORE doing my recolors (releasing later today, actually) ! To note, starting from the "Plates" portion - about 8-12 pixels in from left will color part of the straps. In particular, the loop that is right next to the models center most left pouch.
