I currently have very little free time and really appreciate if you do your research first before asking your questions below. I expect you to have read the description page (and relevant articles) first. I will not answer questions that arise from ignoring those resources. Above you can find the "Search comments" function, specific to the posts section. Also, you always have the option of using your browser's search function (CTRL+F) to search any other page on this mod site for answers. If that doesn't lead to a satisfactory result, post your question below. Other users may also be able to answer them.
I wish you a good time and thank you for your support.
This patch appears to have corrected a dialogue option error with the Heather Casdin companion mod in my current game. The dialogue option to re-hire Heather after dismissing her was not appearing. Without a way to re-hire her dismissing becomes permanent. With Wolfmark's .dll and this pre-configuration loaded the dialogue option is restored and Heather can be safely dismissed and rehired.
Many thanks for Wolfmark and DankRafft for this fix!
I always thought XDI was objectively better than FDI for numerous reasons, but I hated how the cost of things was obscured by the dialogue text. This is huge, so thanks. I'd hoped there was a way to fix the issue, because it was really hurting the experience. That, along with the numerous inconsistencies.
Sucks to hear the XDI devs are so closed off about uploading edits of their mod. I get it though, those unique downloads and endorsements must be suuuuuuper important. And you can't have someone upload a better version of your own mod I mean... c'mon. Nobody has to know that you're not the best at your own craft. Shhhhhhh /s
Thanks again to you and to Wolfmark for making something good into something great.
Î use MO2 mod manager and had to manually copy the /Extended Dialogue Interface/F4SE folder from the mod folder to the /Fallout4basedir/data folder that this patch functioned. 08/16/2024
On MO2 also. Did a manual install (i.e. install contents of XDI in game Data folder). Didn't work... Is there a different Wolfmark fix that works for OG? I'm on Steam 1.10.163.
Solution: FYI, the Discord file in pinned comments is for NG. The OG version is from the google drive link that can be found by looking in Requirements for this mod and clicking on Wolfmark’s XDI Fix (I totally missed it).
UPDATE: This mod doesn't work with the next gen update.
in the MCM Development server which also covers XDI, there's a DLL with wolfmark's fix added from Neanka, in a version compatible with the latest version of the game (as of this post)
I believe it should be uploaded to the mod page here on nexus eventually.
I though this was supposed to fix missing dialogues, but in a lot of scenes there are stuck dialogues and missing ones (both happens same time) for example Preston's first talk is bugged or first talk with McDonough.
Edit: I'm on downgraded version of the game. Edit 2: tried same scenes without this mod and dialogues are not stucking nor missing, so I'm gonna assume this mods fault.
''Btw, this mod doesn't do anything on its own. If anything your problem would be related to XDI itself or Wolfmark's fix for it.'' when I said it's fault of this mod I meant main mod AKA Wolfmark's mod's fault, since he didn't share as a mod, and you shared here as a preconfigured option and I saw from your mods I written here, without Wolfmark's fix + your mod dialogues are fine with XDI, so as I stated already it's not fault of XDI itself, because it works fine without Wolfmark's fix + your preconfigure mod.
I read description and did everything you told, so yeah ''user error'' thought is pretty crazy thought, since it makes no sense. There are other people saying they have missing dialogues as well, but I guess you didn't saw them or thought they are user errors as well and Wolfmark's fix and your mod is fine? Well I'm no fix modder, have no experience with making fix mods, but as a user I did everything you told for making Wolfmark's fix + your mod, but they instead fixing things breaks things like I told, can't see where is user error here, every scene with dialogues not showing nor stuck has no bug without Wolfmark's fix + your mod, they work fine without any problem.

Okay, but I don't offer support for Wolfmark's fix. If it works for you, great. If it doesn't then you're out of luck. Feel free to contact Wolfmark and share your findings with them.

Are you referring to the users who had cut-off texts in every dialogue? If so, that is fundamentally different from (sometimes) entirely missing dialogues that get stuck. Both the description and post section offer a solution to the former. Since you wrote you tried everything explained on the description page that can't be it then. Or is it about the comment below yours? That is about misnumbered dialogue lines due to how Point Lookout's dialogue is set up. This isn't about entirely missing vanilla dialogue lines that get stuck either. So, if hundreds if not thousands people use a mod without the issue a single individual is facing then it is more likely that that issue is related to that individuals setup than hundreds of people not noticing a extremely obvious problem.
that's a vanilla xdi bug. the numbers don't always appear properly, i'm guessing it's numbering is hardcoeded to follow vanilla choices ex. up=1, left=2 etc, and when those options are missing, so is the number.

Btw. this mod doesn't do anything on its own. If anything your problem would be related to XDI itself or Wolfmark's fix for it.
