ABOUT
Weapon Weight Improvements is a RobCo patch that changes how all weapon attachment weights (receivers, barrels, grips, magazines, scopes, muzzles, etc.) are calculated.
The vanilla game uses a percentage system to calculate how much a weapon attachment will affect the weapon's total weight. This means that, instead of certain attachments adding/subtracting a fixed value from the weapon's weight, it will increase/decrease the weapon's weight by a percentage. This causes a bit of a scaling problem, in my opinion, as fully-upgraded weapons end up weighing significantly more than simple/non-upgraded versions.
This mod is heavily inspired by Alaszka's Consistent and Realistic Weapons Weight Overhaul. Using the power of RobCo Patcher, this mod changes all weapon attachment Weight properties so that they are additive, not multiplicative.
This mod works out of the box for all weapon attachments (even those added by mods), meaning that no patches are needed. It Just Works™
The examples below help show the changes made by this mod:
REQUIREMENTS
RobCo Patcher 3.3.3 or above.
INSTALLATION
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex.
This mod does not contain a plugin, so it can be added or removed without any impact on your game.
COMPATIBILITY & KNOWN ISSUES
This should be compatible with every weapon mod without any patching required. That's the beauty of RobCo Patcher.
You can reach out via the Posts tab if you encounter any bugs or issues. However, please make sure to provide your load order and a list of steps to replicate the issue.

- Light Frame Receiver: -50% weight -> -0.5 lbs.
- Heavy Frame Receiver: +50% weight -> +0.5 lbs.
