Can this change the "leave power armor" key to be different than the use key? It is annoying to try to move something on the ground, only to leave my power armor.
can this be used to unbind keys? or controller buttons because i recently downloaded sideaim framework which can only be used on keyboard but i play with a controller.
probably not. fo4 controls scheme was made with heavy controller focus in mind, and this mod tries to adjust it for kb/mouse layout more familiar to skyrim players...
I absolutely couldn't play without this. (For people saying it disables keys, no, it doesn't, (unless incompatible with another mod you're using (unlikely) or not installed properly (how?). You most likely rebound a key with several functions and need to use the new key you selected, or use the mouse buttons.)
However, speaking of that. DefUI is absolute dogshit. Is there any other bloody way to get the Interface changes from it? You say this not making the changes to the interface files is intentional (I'm guessing you use DefUI yourself and don't want conflicts), but as you can see from the comments below, not having those changes makes remembering what functions in the keyboard config menu are connected to other functions in the game menus a pain in the ass, causes confusion, and makes people think this doesn't work properly. X is automove, but in inventory menus, it's inspect. Z is autorun, but in menus it's Sort. It's a pain.
If this simply updated the Interface, none of this would be a problem. (For anyone that likes it, use DefUI, and the Settings.exe to customize the keybinds, but I hope you don't like item sorting tags which it disables if you don't replace them with icons, or the default menus which it changes. Because you're stuck with it.) You also don't list any option other than DefUI to get those changes.
Use FallUI instead. It can do everything DefUI can do, and be configured ingame.
I love fallUI but it conflicts with AWKCR, and its so frustrating. I'm using VIS sorting and i have to say it absolutely sucks. i hate vis. i love fallui
Try using Equipment and Crafting Overhaul (ECO) instead of AWKCR. Less cumbersome, more compatible with other mods (including FallUI), overall better way of doing the same thing.
This is a very good and useful mod, but there are a few issues.
1. Can't use "T" to equip settlers. Which is kind of ok because i can still use the more and click equip, just inconvenient. 2. Can't assign settlers to caravan by pressing "Q". This made me uninstall the mod because I spend a lot of time working on settlements and if I can't assigns caravens that's an issue, I can do it through a terminal but it doesn't allow me to pick the settler I want.
If there is some solution that exists already for the Key's T and Q in the settlements let me know, because I would love to use this mod.
This is just an edit of a txt file that comes with f4se. The game's hints will not reflect the changes made in that file. You will have to use your brain and experiment as well because what keys are linked is changed. There are no problems with this mod, it is 1000 times better than vanilla.
Damn. here I am again in the middle of the night, did you by chance think about setting supply lines in settlements? no key works for that. I tried them all. Q has no use and "set supply line" doesn't have a setting. ill have to disable your mod and hope it doesn't leave errors just to set supply lines lol
