In 1936 Albert Einstein published a short thesis in the journal Science, titled “Lens-Like Action of a Star by the Deviation of Light in the Gravitational Field.” In that paper he made a number of calculations related to the astronomical effect known as gravitational lensing. Einstein made several mistakes doing this, most notably failing to recognize both the magnitude and the importance of gravitational lensing. It also did not occur to him at the time that stars aren't the only objects in the Universe capable of producing this effect.
In a similar vein, the great modder Niero, who has my immeasurable respect, incorrectly set up environmental mapping in his Halo mod back in 2017. This small fix rectifies his mistake.
Fortunately for everyone, a number of scientists, including a brilliant California Institute of Technology astronomer Fritz Zwicky, rectified Einstein's mistake.
