incredibly late reply but PFR-Mist Addon is what generates the mist among the trees, similar to how it works in Far Harbor. if you don't enable it, it's just the trees.

Unfortunately I get these tree LOD models appearing in Cambridge Police station as well. How prevalent is this issue with them appearing in interiors? I confirmed that this is not a problem when using the original mod, and it was nothing left over from that one either since I tried to install 1k2k redux on a clean save as well. The MA Zorak912 writes in the description for the latest version: "1.9 fix trees on interiors I had to revert some lods level01 to 3D"
Im not familiar with how LODs work unfortunately, but shouldn't it be easy to implement his fix for this mod as well? Or what can I do to fix the issue?
This mod is for the reduced test version of Pine Forest Redone. Took me a while to realize that as well. It's not stated in the description. If you use the default version you'll get those tree LOD issues in interiors.

Truly amazing, I got a pretty beefy rig but the main mod still has a pretty significant hit. This not so much. However, the lods seem to pop in too near me. There arent even lods it seems, just the model and it only loads in once you're pretty near it (100-150m?) Anyway to fix/improve lod?
i use dyndolod 3 and dont have any issues :/? creating LOD is way out of my capabilities atm, but im thinking of learning too! glad its helped a little on performance though!

i'm just about testing this, but... this is the reduced version with smaller textures? also... the file size is about the same of the original mod... shouln't be smaller? just curious... anyway, i'll test it a while and come back to endorse or whatever... anyway, thanks, i always wanted to use those trees but honestly i don't understand why everything must be 4k these days.
yep. the reduced version just has less trees ( not much less though ). The files are not much smaller, no, but theres thousands of files inside the Ba2s once extracted, i think around ten thousand. Ive edited all the 4k res ones, down to 1k, a few 2k.
But yeah, I myself questioned the file size reduction, but not many textures were 4k, but it has a massive impact when you consider how many trees there are your GPU is trying to render, at any given time depending on where you are facing.
i havent edited the amount of trees there are and all the other files inside to create the mod and the lods etc. ONLY those 4k textures which tank FPS. so thats why the files size isnt much different.
So think of it as; as an example - Your facing 30 trees, now theyre all 1k, instead of all being 4k base textures. that gpu is doing so much less work. and its really not needed, like you said :)
yeah i noticed it works better, how about the winter version? the mod its deleted as of now but i think i still have the zip file and they are like less than 10 files inside, do you want it? i don't know how to downsize .dds or i would do it myself
edit: aww i just went into cambridge PD and remembered why i don't use the mod (apart for the 4k text) tree lods inside buildings!! damn!! that's unfortunate (happens in a lot of cells U.U ) i guess i'll wait for someone to fix that.
Oh shooot really? im not sure i have that skill yet otherwise i would fix, ive only noticed the odd floating tree stumps atm that havent bothered me too much, that sucks i can try look into it, but cant promise anything.

hmmm.... in the original mod page other people is having these weird tree lods inside of cells (they are even in the bug report section)... but if you don't have the issue is obviously an incompatibility problem.... damn.... i really want those trees..... i guess is another night of looooong fallout 4 bug chasing..... In regards to LODS etc, i would imagine theyre left over lods from maybe a different tree mod? if so download, resaver without any tree mod active on your game, and make sure you have PRP installed. and dont use xLODgen (you dont need it) i know ELFX conflicts with many texture mods and make things go weird for LODs etc with PRP installed. i can always send you my load order if needed
EDIT make sure PRP is at the very end of your load order! and in its correct order of plugins!
thanks, about the winter file i just uploaded the original one so... i don't know if it has anything weird... also, if you can send me your load order would be great, i dont have ELFX (gave me to many issues long time ago) i'll check making a clean save in a small cell disabling any tree mod and runing resaver (didn't know fixes lods issues) and i do have prp at the bottom of my load order with some patches needed... fallout 4 bug/glitch chasing mode engaged (I WANT THOSE TREES) i disabled the mod and installed other tree mods and no problem at all..... U.U
ah man, im not sure then. some tree mods imprint the lods they come with - could be that. thats all i can think of, unless its something to do with lod textures from certain mods canoodling eachother lol.

ok, so, i didn't find any culprit... but i found out why happens the weird tree lod.... it's because of the mod, adds tree lods in the aproximately correct place, but the commonwealth world is in one place, and the interior cell that should be in there (like inserted in a LOD world) is somewhat misaligned, so its not exactly perfect, (don't know if its the scale or possition) i don't know why you don't have the issue, but i'm guessing maybe i have a mod that moves heights or whatever of the commonwhealth world lods (literally fo4edit doesn't show any) or maybe you have a mod that correct the world LOD coordinates and i don't, or you have a mod that corrects the cells positions in the world (that is what i had to do to correct it, move the entire cell ofset to align it with the exterior world lods [PAIN IN THE ARSE]) i'll post an image of what i did for anyone that have the issue. and from now on i'll be manually correcting affected cells as i find them ingame U.U (hope are just a few :'( ) Image (as you can see everything is grey, no mod is overriding or changing values, not in the commonwealth, nor in cambridgepdext02, nor in the affected cell, just, the lods are misaligned in my game for some reason) anyway, the winter version works great!! my game looks great now, i'll upload an image later, great work!! well you have some LOD mods like vivid fallout LOD, maybe those correct the terrain or position lods for better ones, dunno.
Oh damn, thats annoying you had to do all of that!! im glad you kinda figured it all out though, and that the winter one works!! I think Vivid does fix Lods, and im sure ive got another mod as well that goes through the whole game and fixes all of them as well probably the FAR mod if i had to guess!

I'm planning a winter conversion of my game in the near future, so this would be an absolute must for me!
