Easy to explain: Piper writes the articles by hand and then they are used as a base for the machine which just copies it and reprints it. Like a scanner and laserprinter.
that and you find Piper's articles on her terminal. Far more likely she prints them out from there. It looking like a computer font is perfectly fitting.
Would you be willing to make a version that fixes the numerous typos and grammatical errors? I find it a little odd that a character who is supposed to be intelligent and successful as a journalist would be so terribly illiterate.
What school do you figure piper went to? The little DC school? Cambridge? Malden Middle school? Oh, wait, none of those were available as piper grew up. Nevermind.
This mod is *almost* perfect for FO4 VR. The fonts look good (vanilla VR are practically unreadable), the paper looks good. But for some reason this mod messes with the VR control button hint icons. Pity, because this mod fills a niche the other VR notes mod doesn't (as in, the paper lines up and the text is legible).
Oh man! I just found this mod and immediately got so excited, because I've been struggling with unreadable notes in VR, especially when using the Better Notes mod. I had to remove it, I couldn't read anything from Publick Occurrences. Now I see this.. how does it mess with the icon though? Is it not worth using this mod?
I want to found "handwriting" and "font" and i can't find desirable one. The Zelda overhaul one has neat new font that isn't properly sized, causing ammo counter being cut off. So... here i am. There's also the fact that Piper and her sister uses the printing press to print the newspaper from her compu... er... Terminal and yet it look like handwriting while it supposed to be not.
Personally I do not have any problem reading the vanila notes. However, it did seem strange to me that a printed paper would use a font emulating handwriting. One thing is what you've got on your computer. But I'd think that using such an antique machine you would choose one that is as easy to read as possible. Though - considering bbens post below- I could be wrong Anyway - I like it, I use it, I endorse it
Piper has a platen press. These were first introduced in the early 1800s, and were the standard type of press used for most printing all the way through the 1800s Until high speed offset style presses came along. They are still used by some small print shops for short runs. The one I learned on was nearly a hundred years old. And even though it had an electric motor, after throwing the lever that started the press, you still had to give the large flywheel on the side a push to get it going.
It was designed to use the hand set movable type that is even older. It would be harder to use the platen press to reproduce a hand written page as each page would have to be cut in reverse ( mirror writing) Leaving the writing higher than the background. I imagine that Piper ( or someone) has hand made a set of movable type that resembles handwriting to use on that ancient press. But I could see a scavenger finding a reasonably complete job case ( printers name for a drawer of type) in Times font in the basement of a wrecked print shop.
I just want an image of the mutant patrol orders typed on clean paper, that would make me laugh for a while, just seeing it :p And Time New Roman RULES!!!

There is nothing unusual to this.
It has a foot peddle. It isn't a scanner.

Thanks for fixing this, I was planning on doing it myself at some point. Now I don't have to
