Yeah, you said it right. But We can assume that it's been 200 years. So a lots of rust and a little radiation might caused it's true colors to fade away over the time.
technically, if the colors were to fade it'd be more grey on the silver parts, and then dark grey due to the faded black, nowhere near brown, I mean, it's a good looking mod but not lore or scientifically friendly, if you had found it on a dead person in the middle of the wastes, it'd make sense because they were running around getting it dirty, but it was in a still standing building (relatively) with little interaction considering it's still standing despite the ghoul occupants
I gotta say, I LOVE the way this looks! The texture is so much more polished and realistic looking! My only issue is that I would prefer this look, with the original colour scheme, if that would be possible. Or at least, a brown that retains the dark look of the first 2 pictures even when in direct light like the 3rd picture. Anyway, thanks again for the great mod!
