I'm currently working on the next update. This will be adding the first crafting trunk. The trunk coming to the mod is the weapon crafting trunk. If you put the required items inside, the menu will pop up like my other ones. The more you set to build, the more resources it will require/longer it will take. Due to limitations in the Messages form, I can only do 4 ingredients because you can only use 9 updatable data in the messages/menu. That leaves me using one for the number of guns, and 8 for four components to show how much out of the components you need. I wanted to make both numbers dynamic with the amount you get. I might also add an option you can toggle to just put prewar money inside the trunk and get it that way instead of components. That would give another use for prewar money and won't be too hard to add. I hope this gives you an idea of what the update will be. This could have been done using a workbench, but I'm enjoying finding new ways to code and figure out more advanced ways.
thanks for your mod. i have it active on every playthrough...i use the auto sell trunk. that trunk plus the omod stripper always sit next to each other at home base :)
so does this basically work like the sell chests in the outcasts and remnants mod? funny thing, i don't really play that mod anymore but i keep it in my load order for this reason funny enough lol, i know that's kind of dumb, but it's something this game needs quite a bit because the traders never seem to have enough money even the mods that make them have up to a hundred grand, it's just never enough lol, so having a chest with an unlimited supply of caps is very useful.
I don't use that mod, but I would say it sells the items you put inside of it. You can choose the setting for it in the holotape, but my favorite setting is dynamic because the settings change with your perk selection. It also has two other useful trunks, and I just started working on it again. I'm adding three more trunks to it currently, it's taking a bit of time, but it should be out before October ends.
hmn, after i wrote this i tried your mod, and though i was excited about it, i think it caused my game to crash, it was unusable, i'm not sure why, i know it's a delayed script to sell the items, but something about it doesn't work and idk why.
the trunks i spoke of in Thuggysmurf's mods, it's not just in that one mod, it's in every mod he's made that involves a quest from what i have seen so far.
i might have to upload a video how they work, it's crazy efficient, if you can make your trunk work like his, then you might have something amazing.
I have been playing with this mod on a personal load order on xbox one and it works fine for me, I'm currently making an update, but it might have a conflict with something causing it to crash. Might have to run the mod by itself to see if that's what's crashing the game.
that's a reasonable response, your right, we are dealing with compartmentalization info here.
so it's entirely possible i had some conflict with some other mod, i probably should have reported it early, instead i was stupid and just didn't say anything about it, and i'm sorry i didn't, it's been a few playthroughs since then so my load order has changed since as a result, and this game crashes for all kinds of reasons, it's the nature of creation engine made games sad to admit.
Yea, I didn't mean any disrespect. My scripts only activate when using the trunks, so there should be no crashes caused by it anytime other than using the trunks or the settings holotape. My game is crashing 17 hours in though, always does in highly populated areas. I hoped the next-gen update would have fixed that honestly. My main goal with this mod was to learn dynamic scripting, and I think I did well at accomplishing that. I'm still working on a big update, and after that, I will make a DLC patch.
damn, 17 hours without a CTD? holy crap, lol i get a crash every hour, and i have less than 300 plugins, most of the mods are stability and performance fixes, and i have the game running a bit better than vanilla, but i still get the frequent one hour CTD's, it's like clockwork and i have even checked my saves with this and yeah it's every hour.
I don't want to have anyone mistake my mods as a mod to add features like other mods to it. I try to make my things my way. If you want other features then list them, but please don't request me to replicate something from another mod author. I created this mod because I did see something similar, but I wanted to make it more than what it was I was inspired by. I made this mod dynamic and for those who don't like dynamic, I made it so that you can choose how you want it to work. I put a lot of work into this mod and made it into more than what I planned it to be. At first, it was only supposed to sell things, but then I decided why not make a non-cheating way to scrap things. Then, I made this scrapping trunk, but I was again thinking why not convert mass amounts of water at once, but make it immersive and have to take time? I then added the purifying trunk, I am willing to take inspiration, but remember if you rather one person's features over mine, just use theirs instead of telling me to rework my mod. I'm not the best scripter there, this mod was supposed to be my script-learning mod. Sorry for the rant, but just needed to let you know the story of how this mod came to be and why I'm not going to try to take from any mods with it. This mod is for me to learn and adapt.
I plan on making some robots to do the same functionality, but waiting to see if they will fix the bug with the creation kit for the next-gen update that would make NPC editing mess up the mod. If they do that, then robots will be the portable version. For now, you can just construct each settlement until I can do that. Making it portable has been on my mind.
Seems like forever since I posted on here, I will continue working on this and add a new trunk soon.

Auto sell trunk 1. add function/choice/menu like underground hideout and that function actually keep what not to sell when player put stuff in the said container and return back any item found in custom formlist back to player....
2. add menu which says sell everything in player inventory without selling anything inside custom formlist
This update is taking a while, I'm having trouble getting some of the code to work properly. I'm going to try to update it as soon as I can.
Update 6/23/2023: I've figured out what I was messing up at, now I just need to do a few more tweaks to get the proper messages to show with the new trunk. I might make the trunks different models and textures if y'all agree with it. The purification trunk should look like a purifier.
Update 2.2 will seem weird, but its to setup for update 3.0. I will be adding new items that may not seem like it makes sense for the mod, but it will make sense in 3.0.
Changed my mind, this will just be released in 3.0.

might try out autosort chest (from underground hideout) it's on nexus too
check how it works implement the way it works into your script
example thought
menu for adding custom formlist which then return item within formlist back to player if item in formlist is found within chest
check formlist before selling all item
