The only thing you need to make it start whenever you want is a perk deleveler and a perk point. One point in Robotics Expertise and Automatron starts.
Love the title. That's basically exactly how I felt when I played on PS4 and wanted to make a Robot focused character but all I could do toward that was hang out with Codsworth for 14 levels
Regards your future plans, imho Automatron automatically triggering whenever we get within range is what annoys most but fortunately I'd found ceano's Automatron Quest Delay script mod which works great for blocking that. It can delay the DLC appearing until later levels or indefinitely. Not as evolved as your future plan but might your's be difficult to engineer because of the fight scene that triggers whenever you approach the area of the battle? And in vanilla the rust devil and automatron patrols all seem to start generating after that whether you agree to help Ada immediately, later, or not at all. And facing those robot patrols (which most folks find incredibly overpowered at level 15) might be an even bigger problem if you want start the quest even sooner? But good luck with it, I'll be tracking to see how this mod develops. Cheers.

My plan is to let the fight scene to be enabled as soon as the game start, but the quest will not be given to you until you actually spoken and agree to help Ada. So no pip boy quest log until you agree to help Ada and prusue her quest.
That mod and my mod both edit the same script and change the same line, just with different values. Thats the mod that gave me the correct script name to change.

I despise them as well, but the problem is that every game has normalised design philosophy to make weapons you start and easily accessible be weak to force the player to grind for better gear and the same time pinning increasingly stronger enemies at you. Similar to league of legends "to keep things interesting" moronic design choice, it's great to force dedicated fans and players to play for longer. People who realised this, just quit playing which by the time most do and new game or change lanuched to entice them back to the same grindy bullshit game play loop. Ok, rant aside. My solution for overpower robots was to make them weaker, but I am retracting from that move, because I am planning on normalising all health and damage in the game to make any weapon be usable (with a seperate mod). So the player doesn't use a weapon because it has good stats, but because they like the weapons asthetic or it fits their character. Minigun in the game is useless after a few levels, same with automatron. Automatic protectron laser out damages any other range attachment. For example the minigun does barely any damage equipped on robots.
