Prewar safes now contain actual prewar loot instead of caps and pipe pistols.

Version 1:

Prewar safe, ground and wall safe will all only contain:

  • 10mm pistol and revolvers.
  • Old pistol (A normal version of the railroad deliver gun). Why, because it is a prewar gun and so I can murder the railroad apon first meeting without losing out on this type of gun.
  • Prewar money, pocket watches and fancy hair brush (Apperently hair brushes are worth locking away in the fallout universe).

No pipe pistols (If people did use shitty pipe weapons for whatever reason, nobody would put them in a safe.)
No caps (Why would there be caps in prewar safes?)
No mini nukes and fusion cores. (Seems very unsafe to keep them in a safe even for the most careless person, if something goes wrong - all your valuables will get blown up along with the building.)
No Technical documents, because Bethesda distrubution of them without any unique element. You can find them almost anywhere, I will upload a seperate mod that distrubute them only to logical locations such as military installation or robot factories.

Note: Technically there is some locations where the removed items could be defensively justified to be located in pre war safes, such as mini nukes in a military safe, but not in a high school princpals safe. I do have future plans to make place specfic safe containers with their own unique level list in future, because that is something that annoys me in game.

Note 2: All "old" pistols will be found with suppressed reciever,  because I copied the entry from deliver gun. I am investigating on how to remove the suppressor and let it spawn in with just the gun, will release an update when I figure out how to remove the suppressor from being attached by default.

You can install this mod on existing saves, but you would need to wait 7 in game days somewhere for all the locked safes in games to reset. Only safes in location that you have not been too will use the new loot list. Any safe in locations you been too will be the same, until the cell resets.

Recommendations for extra immersion:

  • No Magic Lock Knowledge - All locks will be just locked not that "master" lock nonsense. (They also changes lock voice lines like "terminal only" to "Useless").
